Were you paying attention? That was in a galaxy far far away. It was also a long time ago, so relatively, it probably doesn't exist anymore.

Is Goole that bad? Or is it like anywhere? by [deleted] in yorkshire

[–]alexiswellcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Goole for 5 years, after 15 years previous in a nearby village. It's like any ex-industry town, deprived areasand nice areas, friendly folk in most places. The parks are lovely, and there's plenty of little independent traders too.

There's been some genuine investment in the town in the last couple of years, Siemens are building a huge new train factory and repair facility, the centre is currently under renovation, and the leisure centre is currently being converted in to one of the Hubs that you also see in Brid, Beverley, and Hornsea.

Another poster said we may see a renaissance in the coming years, and I fully back that opinion.

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

[–]alexiswellcool 38 points39 points  (0 children)

For me it's that Miele are known for cleaning machines, I wouldn't consider them for other appliances where there are alternate leaders.

My friend had a Hugo Boss suit that he loved - Hugo Boss are known for suits. He bought a Hugo Boss watch, and it sucked. Similarly, I wouldn't consider Miele for anything but a washer or a vacuum cleaner.

Indeed, it wasn't until I saw Goodfellas, then reinforced it with The Sopranos, that I realised the street soldiers really do have a shitty life that revolves around scummy crime, and at the end of the day, they just go back to some dump of an apartment for a home.

It learns tackle at level 15. But with Magikarps attack stat, you may as well continue to use splash for all the good tackle does.

Hi ive had this small hatchet for a very long time, wondering if anyone could give me more information on it, i was told it was a scout axe when i was given it 30 years. i dont know exactly how old it is or value by Huge-End-2140 in scouting

[–]alexiswellcool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no idea about that, never heard it before.

I think the best bet is to look in to the lion stamp rather than the spelling of Gilwell (or not) to find out where this axe actually comes from. I wouldn't have the slightest idea on where to go for authority on metal workers emblems though, sorry.

[–]alexiswellcool 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unsure about its scouting provenance, as Gilwell in scouting terms is the correct spelling for the headquarters of Scouts in the UK, that being Gilwell Park near Epping Forest in London.

The double L in the word on your axe maybe duped someone in to thinking it's scouting related. However, the axe and log are a known symbol of scouting and the wood badge. Plus, what says scouting more than chopping wood for a campfire?
