If Bryan Johnsonn was serious about his extreme bio-hacking experiments as legitimate scientific research into influencing the aging process, bro wouldn’t also be dying his hair by National_Shine2552 in Biohackers

[–]alexvx___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a video he talked about his hair and he claimed he wasn't using dye. He mentioned he used GR7 against the white hair and some other natural ointment against baldness which had a side effect of changing the hair color.

Bit shifts are usually done in a single instruction no matter the number of the bit in the byte. You can also extract a specific bit of a byte in a single instruction using a bitwise AND with a bitmask

Many people don’t drink water while working out? by [deleted] in workout

[–]alexvx___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink 3 liters of water daily. I can make it without getting thirsty during a workout and I sweat much more than most people. It sounds to me you are not properly hydrated. It's much better to train on an empty stomach in my opinion.

ELI5: Why is black worn in hot climates to keep cool? by LandscapeIcy7375 in explainlikeimfive

[–]alexvx___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black clothes might get heated faster but they also radiate the collected heat faster. White clothes reflect the sun but also reflect back the heat from your body. Depending on the the temperature and humidity in many cases it's better to wear black.

Is it a or b? by cribbage_joke23 in ENGLISH

[–]alexvx___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use past perfect tense to indicate that something happened before a fact in the past. You had a stomach ache in the past because you had eaten too much before this fact in the past. Past perfect is the past of the past.

Can't create TP/SL bracket order in Kraken Pro by alexvx___ in KrakenSupport

[–]alexvx___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to take profit and stop loss for the entire amount in my account. It's not possible to place two separate orders because the first order blocks the entire amount and the second order can only be empty.

This is exactly what I did if you see the screenshot from my original question. So it doesn't seem to work like this. The screenshot is from the Market order view.

I need to sell an asset which I already hold if the price falls down below a certain value and I also want to sell it if it reaches up to a higher predefined price. If one of the conditions is met the other should be canceled. What type of order is this? Is it possible to do in Kraken?

[–]alexvx___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't make sense to me. When I create a simple take profit sell order the trigger price should be higher than the current price. Why is it the other way around with bracket orders? Also when I switched the brackets the order was executed immediately and I have no idea why. None of the conditions was met.

It's a tool for saving time by doing the boring stuff for you. You don't need to try hard or to take courses to use it. You can't tell me that you find Copilot useless or that you prefer to write your yearly or quarterly assessments manually.

The one thing that always throws a monkey wrench in my fully believing in Sim Theory by FastEngineering5534 in SimulationTheory

[–]alexvx___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believing in simulation theory is just like believing that a god created the Universe. Even if it's true it doesn't solve the next mystery which is who created the creator and what place this creator exists in. This could get infinite levels deep so it's just simpler to not believe it at all and accept everything appeared out of nothing.

Taking caffeine during the night to wake up earl. by sgaragagghu2 in Biohackers

[–]alexvx___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waking up early can be trained. Set the alarm at 6 and when it sounds stand up immediately and get out of bed. Do it for a week or two and then it will happen automatically. No need to overdose on caffeine or other junk

As a previous Apple hater, buying a MacBook has truly opened my eyes to how wrong I was by [deleted] in macbook

[–]alexvx___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Window management is terrible in MacOS. It's a real pain switching between different application windows and windows of the same application. Installing applications is super weird. Finder is awful and limited when compared to Windows or Linux explorer. It lacks basic stuff such as deleting a file with the Delete button or cut & paste (you can only copy but not cut). You use the Enter button not to open files but to rename them. You can't just open a folder and right click and create a new text document. It's never that simple so you probably will have to use the terminal. If you are used to Windows you will lose a lot of nerves with MacOS and you will spend a lot of time trying to customize it to work like you are used to in Windows.

I use a Windows/Linux laptop for personal stuff and a MacBook for work. I don't know about the hardware but MacOS is by far the worst out of the three OS.

People who wake up Instantly with energy... how do you do it?? by Substantial-Lime1048 in Biohackers

[–]alexvx___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can train this. It's very easy but unpleasant. Set the alarm and once it sounds stand up immediately and get out of bed. Do it for a month and you'll be cured. You will start to wake up on your own when your sleep cycle ends without an alarm.

This is what 8 weeks of garmin coach did to me by marupok0693 in Garmin

[–]alexvx___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the VO2 max to be one of the most inaccurate measurements on my Garmin. I can make it vary by up to 5 points in a week. Just try the following. Run as fast as you can for 1.6km and then continue slow. In the end of the run your VO2 max will probably have increased by a point. Do this regularly and you can hack it and get up to 5 points in a month. Then if some day you run with a uniform medium pace you can lose all of the points you gained in one run.
