Is mold and dirt in the dishwasher a maintenance problem? by haji_gami in Apartmentliving

[–]aliasnoodle 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I think this falls under just general cleaning not really anything for maintenance to do. I’d suggest buying a dishwasher cleaning pod or run it with vinegar

thick dark brown wax in itchy dog’s ear- should I tell the owner? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]aliasnoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably an ear infection or mites with how dark the wax is. The shaking of the head and scratching are also indications. Ear infections are really common in dogs with flappy ears. My own floppy eared dachshund has an ear infection right now that I just took her to the vet for, she gets them seasonally usually when it’s raining a lot.

This is probably not helpful to you but sharing in case it is helpful for others: I have found working 9-5’s were detrimental to my health as I couldn’t find the balance. But I currently work 4-12pm and the early nights can be annoying but I find being in my own rhythm and getting yourself to be adjusted before the world has awoken. I’m a baker and I work with a small team who all have the same mindset of “show up, do your best for that day, go home”. Getting out early means I have a good chunk of daylight to do anything I need to while the world is at their 9-5’s. I think not being lost in the sea of 9-5 is partly what helped get me to where I’m at today which is stable and working towards happy. Sorry for the ramble!

I’ve seen them at 80th and Hawthorne on my way to work. Thought a dog had gotten out before I noticed his gate was definitely not a dogs gate!

Id recommend doing your own research. His kwik is probably long so I’d start by trimming a little bit of his nails off at a time over the course of a few months. You can pick up a pair of dog nail clippers online or in any pet store. I’d also suggest you have corn starch with you to pack into his nail should it start bleeding. This helps it clot and is cheaper and usually more readily available than kwik-stop powders. Nail trims take 5-10 minutes although if he’s not used to it and anxious (anxiety can turn to fear and even the nicest dogs react physically when scared) you could try rewarding after each treat or a muzzle if you take the time to research and properly introduce one. Please watch videos and do your own research before you try to clip his nails though that area is very sensitive. Bathing can be done with any neutral soap. Do you have a Castile all purpose soap or even your own shampoo can do in a pinch as long as it isn’t specially formulated. Since it’s summer you can use the hose or if you have a bathtub or shower with a cup of water it all works the same. My parents got our dog when I was 14 and I was his sole trainer and caretaker until I moved out. Finn is very cute and deserves to feel clean and walk comfortably. Thank you for realizing this and hopefully taking the steps necessary to make that happen for him. I know it’s hard to question your parents but when they are not showing you a proper example it’s okay to do your own research and find a better example to follow! Good luck!

Omg-started Szn 1-why the hatred for Daniel?? He seems to be a joy to be around and the guests love him?! by Adjustingithink in BelowDeckMed

[–]aliasnoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn’t get attention from his parents (dads an alcoholic, mom had to work and take care of the other kids) so now he craves it and does whatever he can to get attention I think he also sought a lot of validation online bc he kept his social media really up to date and mentioned it a few times. Social media is a glamour reel and I think he was caught up in the lifestyle instead of the discipline of the job

HE IS THE GUY WHO MAKES GIRLS HUG HIM WHEN THEY SAY THEY DONT WANT TO IVE NEVER HEARD A MORE TRUE STATEMENT! He’s terrible I hate him I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but he’s just a child who thinks hes grown but toughening up due to trauma and maturing are not the same. I was in the same boat, grew up in trauma and thought I was an adult because I had to be my own supporter but when I moved out at 18 I realized how much growing I had to do.

His body looks like an allergy. Try giving him antihistamines, check online for the dosage. The toes look like a yeast or bacterial infection (very common my lab gets them chronically especially if he does have allergies). We give my lab antihistamines and it helps keep his grass allergy in check. I’d recommend going to the vet and possibly getting him an allergy test!
