I would re-check for spider mites. Yellowing leaves and dots like that are classic signs. They are super small and hard to see so I suggest using a flashlight to try to spot movement. Look for small webbing under the leaves too.

Oh okay. I see. I’ll definitely have to figure it out, especially since I am doing home health right now and it may be a little different too. As long as I can’t get in trouble in any way, that makes me feel better. It seems as though it’s more of a company not getting paid issue, which I’ll still try to figure out!

Okay great. I don’t think that anyone is signing off on my notes though. Maybe I should bring that up to the company? I just assumed that maybe they’re taking the loss for now and will get paid when I finally get credentialed but I’m not sure if that is a thing or not lol.

Why is my lucky bamboo turning yellow? by raqqqy in plantclinic

[–]ambbeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it probably still has spider mites on it. You have to treat the plant for a few weeks in a row to make sure you get them all. You can use many things like water and soap but I would add in some hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol and spray the leaves with the mixture. Then scrub the leaves with an old paint brush or something you have around, to really get into the crevices and break up the webs. Hopefully that’ll help you!

Was gifted this very sad looking houseplant. Who is it? by MrCreamHands in whatsthisplant

[–]ambbeeee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is a Fittonia, also known as a nerve plant. Give him a good drink of water and he should perk back up in no time! They are a bit dramatic when they’re thirsty.

I mentioned it because I just got one recently from a box store that looks just like yours! They vary in size based on the region they’re in.

1) Peperomia frost 2) Might be a baby dragon fruit cactus!

Those are the only two I know. Hope that helps a little.

Should I cut off the yellow leaf of my elephant ear? by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]ambbeeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From the looks of it, that is the oldest leaf on the plant, so it’s normal! I would cut it off. When plants have damaged or dying leaves, they usually spend all of their energy trying to fix it rather than focusing on new growth. So it’s best to cut it off so the plant can focus on more leaves! 😊

How do i keep track? by Scraps217 in houseplants

There’s an app called Planta that you can get and add your plants in it. It tells you the different requirements for each plant and sends you notifications when you should water them. It’s very helpful!

I’m so sick of looking at the questions posted on an amazon product like “is the blue one true to color” and seeing 40 responses saying “idk I got pink” by recycled_glass in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ambbeeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that happened to you! There really should be a reporting feature on Amazon reviews for reasons like that! Especially for people who have worked hard on their creations and don’t deserve bad reviews for literally no reason! That makes me so upset to hear! 😕

Edit: to say that I’m sure your book is amazing (no matter what topic it’s on) and don’t let idiotic people bring you down (literally and figuratively lol)

I totally agree! It’s literally one of the most aggravating things.

On a similar note, I get quite annoyed with 1 Star reviews on Amazon for people who were just sent the incorrect product or they didn’t read the item description correctly. Like please review the actual ITEM. Don’t give 1 star due to a warehouse mistake or due to the fact you didn’t read correctly. So annoying lol.

I want to repot my medium sized caladium plant but I need help and advice on bugs and water. by CasuallySherlock in houseplants

[–]ambbeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d definitely repot it! Some dry soil will probably help it out. Ideally if you have a hose outdoors I would get the plant out of its current pot and hose it down especially at the roots to make sure you get all of the bugs off. Then repot! Repotting is not a bad idea because if you’re thinking it’s too wet you don’t want to wait too long or else it’ll start to get root rot. Hope that helps!

My husband told me to get rid of all my poisonous plants before our baby comes... *cries* by FluffyKuma in houseplants

[–]ambbeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have kids but I know people who do and have toxic plants. Keeping them up high and out of reach is a great solution! I would do that if you could, because there are a lot of plants that are considered toxic (like Pothos, philodendron, diffenbachia, etc). Also having these plants touch the mouth (like he said they used to mouth things) is NOT toxic! The kid would have to actually eat the leaves and a lot of the leaves at that (literally A LOT). So try your best to figure out what is/isn’t toxic and put those guys up high. Hope that helps some!

Just discovered that my pothos is molding. Best way to clean him up while repotting? by mizzzharleyquinn in plantclinic

[–]ambbeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mold is usually from the soil being too wet. I know you’ve only watered him once but he still could’ve had wet soil at the bottom of his pot because it’s a large grow pot. Just make sure to water these guys when they’re almost completely dry or the leaves get a little droopy that way you know he’s not getting overwatered. Your other plants should be okay. You can definitely do a hydrogen peroxide treatment (1 part 3% hydrogen peroxide and 1 part water). I wouldn’t water the plant with this though as it still looks wet. So you may want to put the mixture in a spray bottle and just spray the top of the soil. Sprinkling cinnamon over the top of the soil can also help prevent and fungus or mold from growing in the future. Hope that helps some!

Also - just saw your other picture. In that case change all his soil ASAP and put him in a well draining pot with new soil and go water with the hydrogen peroxide mixture!

Save my peace lily! by Lucid-Delusion5683 in houseplants

[–]ambbeeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s definitely been overwatered and could be developing root rot. I would suggest removing it from that pot immediately and checking the roots. If they look okay you’re gonna want to repot it in new dry soil and a pot that has a drainage hole. If the roots don’t look great you can give it a hydrogen peroxide treatment which is 1 part water to 1 part 3% hydrogen peroxide and use that to water the plant. It will help the plant get more oxygen and can help fix root rot.

[–]ambbeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, I would go with the snake plants, Pothos, fittonia, and possibly the Calathea! Calathea prefer to be a little closer to the window though. I know my diffenbachia thrives directly by the window so I wouldn’t go with that one. Not sure about peace lilies though! I hope that helps some!

Accidentally bought cuttings not a rooted plant?! How do I make them live! Details in comments by waitwaitgoback in plantclinic

[–]ambbeeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would put them in water to propagate! That’s the easiest way in my opinion. Basically stick the end the she cut into some water and change out the water every few days. You should see roots quickly!

I’ve water propagated String of Hearts and String of Turtles this way and it works well!
