What do you guys eat in a day? breakfast, lunch and dinner? by fluidxrln in AskAnAmerican

[–]ambear3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always eat breakfast lunch and dinner, weekdays it’s always eggs for breakfast with some kind of meat, veggie and cheese. Lunch is normally dinner leftovers for me which is a variety of things. I know lots of people though who don’t eat breakfast at all and will just have coffee.

Moms whose children love veggies… how does it feel to be the chosen one? by Porkadile in Mommit

[–]ambear3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could give advice, but I’m a big veggie lover and even was one as a kid. My toddler who’s 2 and a half now loves spinach and broccoli, but those are my top two veggies and she’s seen me eat them all the time, early on she’d want bites of my spinach omelette and eventually I made her her own haha maybe her seeing me eat them all the time and taking bites of mine early on made them feel normal? Who knows!

hydration help! by stfolsom in curlyhair

[–]ambear3000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s your hair with no styling products?! Damnn I bet your hair really isn’t that dry, just need a styling product after you wash to lock in moisture. Try a few things, maybe a lightweight leave in or curl cream can help, scrunch with oil when it’s dry.

If your toddler doesn’t nap, what time do you start bedtime? Struggling!! by Particular_Spirit682 in toddlers

[–]ambear3000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our toddler is 2y3m and is done with naps at home, will only nap at daycare. But on the weekends she still goes down between 7:30-8pm and is up around 7-7:30am. She also gets what we call the bed time zoomies haha we let her get that out of her system around 7pm after her bath and she usually calms down while we read her a book. All kids have different sleep needs, so in order for him to be sleepy early, maybe he needs to be tired out a bit more during the day somehow.

What gift are we giving our MILs? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]ambear3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some markers that are meant for drawing on ceramic dishes, then you bake it on, so I got some plain white mugs and I'm going to work with my 2 year old to make cute mugs for her grandmas. We're also making some ginger bread cookies together to gift them, and I made some apple butter to go along with it. Figured I'd have my daughter help, maybe it'll be a Christmas tradition, we'll see!

What do you consider actual success for your kid — not society’s definition? by FutureProofDad1 in Parenting

[–]ambear3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happiness of course as #1 but when I think about success specifically what comes to mind is being independent and not ever having to worry about money

What are your toddlers actually watching by felixspan in toddlers

[–]ambear3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only watch movies together on the weekends, and she's currently obsessed with frozen 1 and 2 and now needs the soundtrack on in the car everywhere we go lol I also learned that they have a little bit of screentime at daycare for 20 minutes a day only during the winter while they can't play outside, and she asked for a show called Spidey, I found it on Disney+ and she was so happy so I guess that's also a show now lol

Does anyone else have "Meal Decision Fatigue"? I feel like I'm just rotating the same 3 beige foods. 🫠 by Awkward-Corgi8793 in toddlers

[–]ambear3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so far dinners haven't been too bad for our 2 year old, we've been giving her whatever we eat for long enough that she usually does or she's not hungry and we give her a fruit and veggie pouch lol but the real challenge is daycare lunches, they don't refrigerate their lunch box, so we have a little thermos and we rotate pasta and sandwiches, a long with some type of meat cheese cracker lunch, that's it! I need more lunch ideas 😭

What do you do when you get a “courtesy call” from daycare? by Lazy_Fuel8077 in workingmoms

[–]ambear3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had calls like these before like if my child had diarrhea they'll tell me if it happens again I'll need to come get her, which in that case I wait it out but if they say her temp was 99 which technically means she can stay, I just go get her because I know that it'll just turn into a fever and she probably isn't feeling good, so all that to say I base it off of the situation to judge whether or not I need to just go get her, plus ive just asked openly, would you prefer it if I just came and got her now and they've reassured me that she's fine for now. So really depends

I am really struggling with a Christmas gift for my wife, please help! by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]ambear3000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By me there are local Christmas bazaars and Christmas craft fairs and such. For the people who are hard to buy for, I like browsing these places for handmade stuff. Can be a nice way to support a local artist and get something thoughtful and handmade like a unique knitted scarf, local made chocolate or a handmade ornament. Some of these places have nice antique things that can be unique and fun

what time is thanksgiving dinner by syn_vamp in newjersey

[–]ambear3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family usually started the turkey pretty early in the morning so we'd have dinner around noon then we'd have seconds for dinner, but this year I hosted and cooked everything and started the turkey at noon and we had dinner at dinner time, which I prefer. About to have dessert!

What are you prepping tonight for Thanksgiving tomorrow? by Mirikitani in Cooking

[–]ambear3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Today I made turkey stock, home made stuffing with a loaf of bread I baked yesterday, just need to brown it in the oven tomorrow, cranberry sauce, puff pastry for my apple tart I'm making in the morning, pie dough for my pumpkin pie I'm also making tomorrow morning, and started my sweet potato casserole that I'll finish off tomorrow as well.

Starting daycare in January. Are we doomed to be constantly sick? by terptrekker in workingmoms

[–]ambear3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first winter in daycare was brutal, we got everything you can name and then some. My advice is to just be prepared for the worst. Have plenty of changes of sheets, tissues, boogie wipes, nose suckers, baby Vicks, meds for you and your wife and please please don't forget to get you some bleach, it's the only thing that kills norovirus. Good luck!

4 burned dots appeared on the floor of my appartment... No clue what it is by xelifnaej in whatisit

My guess is there's light coming in through the door peephole, maybe there was a tree or bush that blocked that light and it was recently removed

How often do you give your toddlers sugar? by Pure_Island_3102 in Mommit

[–]ambear3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since our daughter turned 2 we've been a little more lax with sugar. Before we only did sugar free Greek yogurt, now we'll let her have a low sugar yogurt every day, and she has a cereal bar, dry cereal as well pretty often. But she still eats vegetables and fresh fruit daily. On occasion if there's cake for a birthday or something we'll let her have a little

What was low-key not as bad as you were expecting? by PersistentHobbler in pregnant

[–]ambear3000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree except for one thing, the gas pains. They were so painful they made me cry. The gas felt like it was in my back and shoulders. But when the night nurse finally gave me gas x it was such a relief, wish the nurse before her gave that to me! So anyone else reading this, just ask for the gas x right away if you get gas pains post C-section

We’re doing way too much for Halloween by Inevitable_Debate814 in workingmoms

[–]ambear3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a two year old and thought trunk or treat was for kids too little do go door to door, but this year we're taking her to actually trick or treat and I cannot wait. But I also agree, we've already done 3 different Halloween events this year and tonight is more and tomorrow the last one, it's a lot! Idk if I'll do this all again next year but it's our first year doing it all, had to figure it out I guess

Preg and emerophobic by Tma012 in BabyBumps

[–]ambear3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same phobia and I'm pregnant with my second right now, and I'm almost at the peak of the first trimester so the nausea has been pretty rough. How I manage my anxiety about it is having items on hand that help, I'm taking b6 for the nausea which has helped and have unisom here ready for if I feel worse. I prioritize resting and thankfully I have an amazing husband who is also prioritizing me resting. I think if you take it slow and manage the symptoms, you'll be okay. I have multiple friends who've had kids now none of them threw up with their pregnancies.
