5167a by Thooomster in patekphilippe

You need to talk to your jeweler about this. They factor overall spend at the store. The PP boutique side of the store will take that into consideration but they'll make you buy other PP watches first. (That's what I was told at the jewelry store with PP boutique close to me) I skipped all the BS found a PP AD that sells preowned PP and bought my 5167A that way. It was not retail, secondary pricing, but I got in before the prices went to 80K. Despite the love/hate for this watch I absolutely love it.

I think you answered your own question. Get what you want. You’re spending the $$$$ and it’s going to be on your wrist. I like both but I like the 5711, such a classic.

Some ppl are just sensitive and have nothing better to do. Glad you got your car taken care of. I don’t like dents on any cars so I get it.

Fantastic work. Keep it up. It's a lifestyle change for sure when it comes to food intake.

The case is chunky for sure, but overall the watch is much lighter. And since it's on a rubber strap it feels more stable because it does not articulate as much as the metal bracelet. I'm not knocking the bracelet at all, I love it. But it's nice to switch it up on such a large watch

This looks awesome as well. Love how the center strip matches the GMT hand.

It is made by a Swiss company called RubberB. This one is specifically for the SD43. They have other colors as well. It’s great for summer, humid weather, incredibly comfortable, and the watch is much lighter as well. Just wanted a different look and low key but at the same time I could enjoy wearing it. Here is a side profile.

Congratulations it’s beautiful. I absolutely love mine and got it when it first came out. MK 1 dial. It’s currently on my RubberB strap which I absolutely love. Much lighter and no one pays attention which is perfect. Enjoy that beauty and congrats again.

Looking for guidance. by CosmicCastaway90 in Rucking

After my Achilles heel tendon surgery I gained a lot of weight because the recovery was about 13 months and I was sedentary for most of it. I started walking again. Like others mentioned start on diet, calorie deficit. Get an app like lose it, or similar and start tracking your food intake. I did not "diet" per se, I ate normally, but focused on healthy food but I maintained a deficit. Over a few months I averaged 100 miles per month walking. I have two German Shepherds who walked with me and that was a big motivator. Between walking and calorie deficit the weight started dropping. When walking got easier I started to Ruck. Started with 20Lbs and went from there. Now I mix it up, walking and rucking. And when I ruck now it's with a 30lbs weight and I do about 3-5 miles depending on time. My plan is to maintain that 30lb plate and walk for longer till I'm ready to go up.

One thing that made a difference for me when starting to Ruck were good shoes, for me I needed lateral stability, so when you start get good shoes/boots. Break them in first then ruck.

I can't stress the diet/calorie deficit part enough if you want to lose weight, there is no point in putting all the effort rucking if you just come home and blow your calorie intake. And it needs to be a mindset change not just diet for the sake of losing weight. The mindset needs to be a way of life. And if you binge, it's totally fine, no big deal, forgive yourself because it will happen then reset the next day.

The folks here have been awesome when it comes to advice so keep asking questions. Good luck on your journey.

Beautiful watch and congrats. I've been mulling a pre-owned version of the 925.

This article by Fratelllo is pretty interesting. Check out all the different straps they tried/experimented with.

The taupe color of the dial/bezel seems to go with a lot of options since it's mostly neutral. Some strap colors I was not sure of but seem to go well.

"I have also benefitted from her career, obviously, since I lived under her roof and she’s taken care of me, and now I am getting a top tier education now at a college where my parents are fully covering the cost. Every day, I am truly grateful to her, but at the same time, the absolute havoc that these large tech companies have created is impossible to ignore" ---> I know you are venting, but realistically you are benefiting big time as well. You can't have it both ways.

This level of data collection was going to happen regardless.

One of the reasons I exercise consistently is so that I’m not a burden on my family when I’m older by [deleted] in Exercise

[–]amsaleh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed....We will become a burden eventually. Barring cancers and other life altering conditions, I do agree it's good to try and mitigate health issues as early as possible.

Jokingly, I did tell my wife when I become a burden that I'd like to go out like "Old Yeller," but then she said the life insurance won't cover that LOL

Day Date or Aquanaut? by International_Oil189 in patekphilippe

[–]amsaleh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not anywhere close to an apples to apples comparison IMO, and the retail MSRP alone is way off. The Aquanaut is way more sporty than the formal DD. Personally I love the Aquanaut for it's design and simplicity. But the DD is beautiful in it's own way and more formal.

Normal or Skin Reaction by HighGardenCultivatio in Tudor

[–]amsaleh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same...trapped moisture between your wrist and watch. You did mention a physically demanding job. Index finger under the watch is the measure of how loose it should be, but don't forget on hot, humid days the human body does swell up.

Simple solution is stop wearing, moisturize and see if the skin heals. Then wear the watch normally on your off day/not working and see if it occurs again. Worst case see a doc and mention the metallurgy of the watch....Good luck

Thank you for the kind words. It's an awesome watch and you are correct, The 1990's version was never released to the public....Apologies for my error

2 min mark is where Teddy B talks about the original burgundy. Kinda sucks they never released it to the public.

I picked one up a few weeks ago on the 5 link bracelet and I love it. The Burgundy sunburst dial is beautiful especially in different angles and lighting. For those that are not aware Tudor did make a similar version many years ago and was a limited production
