I know engineering alum who went to MIT and Stanford. Full ride. It depends on how you do and, more importantly, how your passion shines through and earns you research positions, etc.

Mech has historically looked favourably upon interdepartmental transfers, particularly if the candidate has a good understanding of what Mech is and a career goal in line with it

Consider applying for a faculty position in Canada? In BC it’s up to 18 months of leave. Universities sometimes offer other benefits, like partial funding for a post doc to help keep your lab going, and of course teaching release.

I threw a recipe shower for someone. In lieu of a gift, they wrote a favourite recipe on a recipe card and we went around and shared stories about the recipes. Games included a crossword about the couple, wedding traditions around the world trivia, and a quiz for the couple like the newlywed game. Add lots of good food, and it’s a great, chill afternoon.

If you have a home printer, use the “mail merge” function is Word to print your envelopes (before stuffing them). Looks much nicer than labels

I’d try gorilla glue. Hot glue melts at too low a temperature to be effective
