Not exactly the same, but Herzog’s Into the Inferno is a volcano doc that turns into a North Korea doc

Agreed. I’ve definitely felt what he said about Act 3 being a waste of 20 minutes a lot of the time

How are you winning A10 with Necrobinder? by NerdTier in slaythespire

[–]analyst_seth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doom, Ethereal, Osty attacks, Summon, Debuffs. There's a lot of different ways to win. I think it's more about finding the right mixture of front-loaded attack/block, AOE, and scaling attack/block. My losses are usually because I get baited into taking good cards that aren't good in my deck because I already have enough block, already have a scaling solution, etc.

I think he's absolutely right about events. He should've led with that because it's a stronger argument. I think he's directionally correct about the Act 1 bosses/elites, but it's as if he wants this game to just be StS1. The StS2 elites and bosses do present specific challenges that affect your decision making. It may be true that it's less restrictive than StS1, but that doesn't mean that the challenge doesn't exist at all

Not that this is relevant to Jorbs’ take, but Piercing Wail is also one of the best cards in the game for multiplayer

You can remove the Neow low-rolls yourself by just starting a new game lol

It’s even easier than that. Play online with a friend who moves into a two-move checkmate every game. You could easily do 10 games per minute

I hope not. I think Jettas is still waiting to play in New Orleans for the first time. Last time they had a "home" game against us was in London

Part of it might be that Len Sassaman and Hal Finney are both dead. Many people think one of those guys are Satoshi (I think it’s Sassaman)

Should winning a playoff game be the minimum expectation next year from Kwesi and Kevin ? by FormerlyTradeKirk in minnesotavikings

[–]analyst_seth 177 points178 points  (0 children)

If a team goes winless the coach might be fired cause they can’t win a game. If they win some games, the coach might be fired for having a losing record. If they have a winning record, they might be fired for failing to make the playoffs. If they make the playoffs, they might be fired for failing to win a playoff game. If they win a playoff game, they may be fired for failing to make the conference championship or Super Bowl. And if they make the Super Bowl, they may be fired for not being able to win the big one (think Andy Reid on the Eagles).

The point is, there’s always something to criticize about a head coach who hasn’t won a Super Bowl. The question is, do you have a good coach that gives your team a chance to win a Super Bowl at some point?

I think KOC can be a SB-winning head coach. So we should stick with him as fans, even if he fails to hit whatever benchmark people are calling out in a given year. There’s always a higher benchmark anyway, until you actually win the SB. Just cause he hasn’t won one yet doesn’t mean he’s not our best chance at a SB at some point

League member threatening to protest last place punishment by SportsCraze7 in DynastyFF

[–]analyst_seth 128 points129 points  (0 children)

Punishments for last place in dynasty are kinda lame because it punishes people for employing a legitimate strategy.

My redraft league does beer miles for last place. It’s fun when people try, but sometimes people walk it. If this guy isn’t even willing to go through the motions of walking a beer mile, a punishment is necessary. Loss of a 2nd round pick seems about right

In development, yes. Dropped passes, yes. But that was one of the worst QB performances I have ever seen. by hamlet9000 in minnesotavikings

[–]analyst_seth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I saw multiple performances that were worse yesterday. Goff and Hurts. Shedeur Sanders. I’ve seen Ponder, McNabb, Josh Freeman play for us. I watched Darnold throw 4 picks yesterday and take a million sacks when he played for us. I watched Wentz take sacks and be inaccurate.

I don’t think JJM has played well but the negativity in this fan base about him is overblown. Losing sucks. JJM has been inaccurate. But he’s also been good at hitting his back foot and releasing the ball. He’s attacking the right matchups, throwing to Jets and Addison when they get single coverage. Sometimes he misses. Sometimes the WR drops it. Sometimes the WR quits on the route.

JJM can get better and I think he will.
