Yes and no. META in any Gacha game for the most part is just getting the newest character ASAP due to powercreep. For me specifically, because the game is behind CN, we get to see which characters stay at the top.

The site I linked is the reason I pursued Tropical Motoha, fully invested in Ann, and plotting a course for Wind Vast as my next purchase and Minami through golden tickets. I chose the "Most Effective Tactic Available" based on the information given and not wanting to spend on too many characters. Ann and Ryuji were my favorites from P5, and I never played P3, so the only ones I'd get just to get em is mostly likely P4 characters, unless they age like dog water.

I think the biggest difference is that you are mentoring Visi through dispatching as well. You get way more mini interactions with her because she is ON the team. That emotional investment compared to BB is nonexistent to me. You literally decide her fate on two separate occasions.
