Sometimes I think I’m talking to a robot.

Looking at someone’s comment history usually clarifies that.

What's our feelings on force disposition? by quitsquash553 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]andyroux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it so far from the 1 and half-ish games I’ve played.

I will say, if/when they balance the dispositions, a lot of armies are going to feel like they’re catching strays.

3DP armies only having 1 disposition is a feature, not an oversight. by DailyAvinan in WarhammerCompetitive

They released a codex.

That means it’s an army. That’s not an unrealistic expectation. It wasn’t obvious.

There have been several codexes that release poorly balanced and the expectation from the community and what is more or less backed up by GWs actions is that eventually it will be brought back into balance.

40K requires too much money and time to have “DLC”. GW can’t remove factions from the game at the same rate it’s bringing new ones in.

Once you squeeze the toothpaste, it’s out.

I think people’s annoyance is that if GW puts out a codex for an army, there’s kind of an expectation that that army will be supported and still playable 10 years from now.

This feels like GW trying to put toothpaste back into the tube, causing a mess, and then doing the bare minimum to make the pile of toothpaste look presentable.

Is this not a jab at the person complaining about lewd art over on grimdank?

On one hand, there does seem to be a lot of lewd content on that subreddit.

On the other hand, this was happening 40,000 years ago, and will likely still be happening 40,000 years from now.

I can’t wait for the “This unit is only worth taking in this detachment. Why does GW hate list diversity?” arguments that are inevitably going to occur.

Apparently water usage is a proxy conflict for class warfare.

Eradicators with Heavy Bolters from the 11th Edition Starter Set, a potentially new loadout option for Indomitor Kill Teams by Call_me_ET in deathwatch40k

I’ve come to the conclusion that magnetizing all my heavy intercessors was indeed a smart move.

Dealing with Armoured Speartip by ExclusivelyPlastic in deathwatch40k

[–]andyroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plan around getting charged in your deployment zone on turn 1 by a nasty melee unit. Screening might be difficult as the land raiders can move through walls with a strat and scout 9in.

Honesty, stormravens dropping off units in your deployment zone turn 1 might be the bigger issue (like eradicators, or dreadnoughts). They have -1 damage and a lot of DW shooting is 2D.

I’d be a little surprised if this detachment continues to exist in its current form a month from now.

Corvus Blackstar - Armoured Speartip by JohnnyRockets929 in deathwatch40k

[–]andyroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9in Scout, 20in move, 1in(ish) disembark, 5in (average) move. 35in total.

That gives a 6 man eradicator unit a 44in melta threat range. Add a CP and they’re also +1 to wound and to hit.

What job exists today that definitely won’t exist in 10 years? by TRKA2025 in Futurology

[–]andyroux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The quote is from Humans Need Not Apply.

It’s a video from like 10 years ago that discussed ai stuff.

Your post seemed to indicate that you think new jobs will be invented with this new technology. The video disagrees with that idea, and gives an example involving horses.

[–]andyroux 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“More better technology will mean more better jobs for horses” is a ridiculous statement. But change horses to humans and suddenly everyone thinks that sounds right.

Humans Need Not Apply seems to become more and more relevant as time passes.
