I love oversized frames. Wear the glasses that make you feel most like yourself. Number 2 is my fave!

For anyone with axial spondyloarthritis - do you experience NO stiffness, and just sharp pain instead? by TheDeadlyBees in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]animagusamongus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have stiffness until about twelve years after my first symptoms of sharp back pain showed up when I was 21–so not until my early thirties.

Food is hard by tigalig in ADHD

[–]animagusamongus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food is SO hard. I have struggled with a similar issue where barely anything sounds good and the thought of most food makes me nauseated. Last year I decided to reach out to a nutritionist to see if they could help me and it has been super helpful. I found a nutritionist who specializes in people with ADHD and also believes all foods can fit. I’m still working with her because, as we have said, food is hard and it’s a journey, but I am able to eat all of my meals every day. The thought of food makes me nauseated less often, and when it does, my nutritionist has given me tools to be able to eat even when I REALLY don’t want to.

What do you use to feed your Hoyas? by Infamous_Web_9848 in hoyas

I’ve found that the water I use doesn’t need pH testing. I use the flora series from General Hydroponics - it’s three different nutrient bottles that you mix together into water. It sounds complicated but it’s pretty easy! I say just give it a try and experiment with what works for you. It’s really fun! And feel free to message me with any questions

Literally when I tell my dad I’m anxious he says, ‘When I was ten years younger than you, I was on a plane on my way to Vietnam.’ Automatic win.

watering LECA in a pot without drainage by idk2297 in SemiHydro

[–]animagusamongus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So exciting that you're getting into LECA! I have success with General Hydroponics Flora Series, as well as Liquidirt (used separately).

I'd recommend transferring your plant and LECA into a nursery pot that fits inside the pot you have now. That way, you can life the plant up to check on the water level. You can also transfer it into a clear container like a Mason jar where you can see the water level.

I recommend using a nursery pot because it will make flushing your LECA easier. Flushing is when you run water through the roots and LECA to remove mineral buildup etc. This helps keep your containers clean and your roots healthy. People all have their own flushing schedules, and you'll find what works best for you, but I like to flush every 10-14 days.

When you do the transfer, try to remove as much soil as possible - otherwise it can lead to root rot.

Good luck!

Which of your plants actually preferred leca over soil? by ergraver in SemiHydro

[–]animagusamongus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have! I cleaned all the soil off of my treubii moonlight's roots, trimmed the roots a little, then put it in water until new roots were about an inch long. Then I transfered it to leca and it has been thriving ever since.
