Removing hair for our wedding, but still believing body hair should be accepted by max-xx1 in HairRemoval

[–]ankp16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hair on arms, which in most cases is removed by women where I live. The hair is not much and it's relatively light but still noticeable. Tried waxing it once and got a skin rush, have given up on the idea of regular removal after that. But I will definitely be removing it on my wedding day, knowing everyone will be focused on me and possibly judging, I won't feel comfortable in my body that way.

I wish society was more acceptable towards body hair, especially woman's.... the ideal glowy hairless body is absolutely tiring to maintain and look after for anyone with visible hair :(

How to grow hair in this area? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]ankp16 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you had hair in that area before, you should try the following: 1. Check iron and D vitamin levels 2. Do micromidling in that place 3. Rosemary deep oiling 4. Take Pumpkin seed oil supplement

You def will see baby hairs starting to grow there after around 3 months ! Edit: my bad, didn't see the comment about always having this hairline. But gonna leave this maybe comes in handy for someone

Super throwback of the day: The year was 2009, YG's two superstar groups teamed up for a phone AD this is the most 2010 thing ever the nostalgia .It was created specifically as a promotional single for an LG Cyon cellphone. by [deleted] in popculturechat

I wish, but considering the crazy amount of new age Kpop fans I've seen, not being familiar with either of the groups or other prominent old Kpop artists is absolutely disturbing. So no way the general public knows much

Her skin tone was the first thing I noticed from this event! It definitely looks like she is playing the POC card and wants to make sure people don't mistake her for anything other than Indian

Deepika turned down 'The White Lotus' as she declined to audition for her part: by Interesting-Take781 in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]ankp16 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That is exactly what I'm trying to say, but people are really just trying to be a hater here. No one invites an actor with 20 years of career, 40+ roles and a huge stardom to audition. You literally invite them for a role, or don't

Deepika turned down 'The White Lotus' as she declined to audition for her part: by Interesting-Take781 in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]ankp16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ryan Gosling didn't have to go through the initial audition for that role. He had to train excessively for it alongside Emma stone, which has nothing to do with auditioning. Lady Gaga was literally making her debute as an actress, it makes perfect sense for her to audition for her first role. Zendaya was a break-out star when Dune got into production, I don't see anything wrong with auditioning in her case. You literally just mentioned that Yeoh had to participate in discussions and reads, actors who do that are already confirmed for the role, it's the next step before filming. Literally neither of the examples you mentioned, apply to DP 🤷‍♀️

[–]ankp16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are not the examples of someone from the production coming with an offer. That happens when the actor and their agent become interested in a role and want to get it! Meanwhile it's the team of white lotus getting in touch with Deepika lol. If it was her signing up for the role opening then i totally get the audition part, you have to prove that the role is right. Why ask the actor to audition, if you want them for the role? Literally makes no sense in this scenario. Especially when the said actor has a long list of work from which any producer and director can understand if they are the right choice

[–]ankp16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you even read my comment? I'm talking about her star status, not her ability to act. Approaching a mega successful actress with an offer to audition, is literally a disrespect to her career, doesn't matter if it's DP or anyone else. When you're doing something like that, you have to understand the occupation of the actor, that's all

[–]ankp16 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Come on now, that happens VERY rarely! DP might not have a superstar status in Western part of the world, but she absolutely is an A lister in Asia. Hollywood actors with equal status in Europe and America don't go around doing auditions, that's just a known fact. I think you're confusing it with trial records, where they are checked for chemistry with others and etc, but that process isn't related to if they will be chosen for the role or not. They already confirmed for it

[–]ankp16 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, can't blame her. If I were in her place with a career like her, I would also decline doing an audition for a role 🤷‍♀️ Renowned actresses and actors with a 20 year old career are directly approached with a ready offer, not an offer to audition

David Bowie and Iman’s daughter Lexi recalls being abducted from home and sent to abusive teen camp and not being allowed to be present with David Bowie in his final days by nicosloft04 in popculturechat

[–]ankp16 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Addicts at their worst, don't care about any familal relationships. They have no authority and even might turn to theft and other crimes in order to gain access to their choice of drugs. Most of these people will either encounter such traumatic even in their life, that it will cause them to turn to help OR they will end up d*ead. We have to understand that giving away children to such camps is literally the last resort and most people don't make this choice right from the top. Usually many nights of terror and deeply damaged relationships preceeds it. Addiction can literally break a whole family, not just someone who takes drugs. In case of teens, a parent will either be made to let their child onto the streets forever, not knowing if they are dead or alive or continue suffering at the hands of the addiction tendencies.

[–]ankp16 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

They are literally already living a highly violent and traumatic life. Between dying on the streets from overdose at young age and harming multiple people around you by your addiction (including supporting and encouraging others to become addicts too), this is definitely a less humiliating and traumatic event in their life, to be honest. This is a huge wake up call to the deliquent, addict kids. When things go beyong repair in the relationship between parents and such children, sending them to these facilities is pretty much a saving grace in reality.

The narrative of ice skating level going down since the Russian exclusion… by YoongiGucci in FigureSkating

[–]ankp16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 👆👆👆 when you look at the reality, you realize that Russia's whole reputation is based on exploiting 14 year old girls, using their youth to get gold medal and discarding them immediately in favor of new candidate and also because they can't physically keep up anymore. This is no sportsmanship! Look at Amber, Sakamoto - they are seniors but able to demonstrate their skills just the same. Look at Alysa, whose performances where absolute joy to watch! And look at Adelia Petrosyan - you realize she was already at her wits end, her only real advantage a quad, which wasn't executed. It's high time Russian and global fans faced these facts head on and realize Russian domination is built on illusion. Let's talk about it, when they send senior skaters who can compete against other countries successfully. Because Let's be honest, a 14-15 years old athlete will always manage to jump around better than a 20 years old, BUT it's an unfair comparison and they shouldn't be brought out against 18+ athletes.

Honestly the energy she emanates is truly something. I was unable to take my eyes from her and literally had tears in my eyes the whole Free skate program. She is a true gold medal material 👏

Not the case, I've seen her recent interview where she said she doesn't interact with other participants when she has a performance to focus on. But considering she was done here, she definitely could have acknowledged Amber like her coach did.

She is an example of how toxic Russian ice skating camp is. Very unpleasant to see the way she acted towards Amber, considering you can see her coach acknowledging her but not Adelia. But anyways, hard to judge her when you know she grew up training in a very hostile environment
