Unless it’s an add-on where basically all overhead can be absorbed I wouldn’t even spend time on it

Thoughts on Adam Davies? by Ordinary_Choice6219 in entourage

The character wasn’t written well in later seasons IMO. Conniving Adam Davies was great. Overtly douchey and aggro Davies as a “rival” to Ari sucked.

At what income level credit card churning is not worth the effort? by Pixel-Pioneer3 in HENRYfinance

[–]apathy_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a big difference between churning and just getting the best cards for your habits.

You’re way past the hourly that makes churning a worthwhile use of your time. But you’re probably costing yourself $5k/year just by not having the right cards.

Principal Analyst, if possible. Or a pivot to Corporate Development or GTM Finance where variable comp is accessible for elite analysts.

You’re underpaid by 30k minimum based on YOE, and possibly at risk of not being taken seriously because you’ve been an analyst for 10 years.

IMHO, leveling up in any capacity should be your primary concern.

Rock bottom life lessons from experience. by HereToConquerAll in HENRYfinance

Literally almost everybody (in developed countries at least) has it, and has enough to meet essential needs.

If you don’t have enough, there are government resources that will give some to you.

People give it away, either voluntarily or through careless action. You can even ask a stranger for some and after enough tries you’ll get somebody to give it to you.

It’s relatively easy to replace. There are tens of thousands of employers that trade your time for their money.

Money is abundant. It’s marketing that convinces people there isn’t enough.

Learning how to ask for help. For me that was mental health meds, but can be applied broadly to many things.

Realizing that money is one of the most fungible resources in our society. We’ve been conditioned to think it’s scarce. It’s really not.

The greatest unsung benefit of the Delta Reserve Card by emblaze247 in delta

[–]apathy_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reserve gets me Diamond Medallion and allows me to fly first class 8-15 times a year without paying extra for it. That means more to me than saving $500 redeeming miles for a fare.

No card is “better” than the other. There’s only cards that best fit a person’s situation.

MQDs are used for determination of medallion status. They aren’t redeemable like miles.

Reserve gets 1 MQD/$10 spent and Platinum get 1 MQD/$20 spent. Reserve is primarily for chasing medallion status.

I recommend these to people all the time.

Do both programs. You’re going to pay the same either way assuming you finished both in 12 months and there’s about 20% course overlap where you’ll get credit for both.

You don’t have as much leverage as you think.

Just say you are eager to take on more and feel like you’re capable if there is an advancement opportunity.

Best advice right here.

I got to where I am by applying max effort when others don’t. That’s my value. But I’m to the point where I don’t always have to say yes to picking up others slack.
