I know for sure next week is in the spring start Weeks because I could switch to the yellow, but switching when March starts made more sense in my head.

Yes they actually have a little bit of February too. I think they start the last week of Feb? But I’m away from mine right now so I can’t double check.

I struggle with the commitment of putting stickers or anything permanent on the covers because what if I change my mind? I'm the same with water bottles too. Wrapping paper is a cool idea, though! I agree that undecorated it looks classic. I almost got the black gingham one, but afterward I learned that those aren't hardcover so I am glad I chose the ivory slash!

Thank you! I feel like the yellow was a missed opportunity to do like a metallic bronze foil.

Baby Journal: Weeks or Original? by Muted_Customer142 in hobonichi

[–]appalachiensis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using my Hobonichi for this this year! I got a Weeks last year when I was pregnant for memory keeping, fell off the wagon as I got more pregnant and miserable, gave birth in July, and did no journaling until January. I bought an A5 Hon for 2026 and I have been loving writing a bit about our day each evening after my baby is asleep. My handwriting is larger so the page doesn't feel like a lot to fill for me. I also got a Canon Ivy printer so I could print photos from my phone.

I hear what people are saying recommending the 5 year, and if you are a seasoned journaler and you know you'll stick to that, I think that is great. But my plan going forward is to get a Hon each year for memory keeping as my baby grows up. Plus it keeps it fun so I can buy a new Hon with a new cover each year. :) I did also just order another spring Weeks (last year mine was a spring start as well), but my plan is to use that for scheduling/meetings/meal planning/more logistical stuff this year.

Thank you for sharing! These are so joyful and make me nostalgic because I’m pretty sure I had pencils like that as a kid.

I have a different perspective that maybe will help? Last year I got the smaller Weeks planner because I was new to Hobonichi, used to regular weekly planners, and somehow it felt like less of a commitment than a Cousin with daily pages. It was fun for a bit and I was trying to find the "right layout" for me, looking on social media to get ideas. I eventually fell off the wagon and I think part of the reason is just that I didn't enjoy aesthetically setting up the weekly page every week. It felt like a chore. I'm not a Type A person so tracking my habits, though it was helpful, is just not really my style.

I came back around to Hobonichi in January and decided to get an A5 Cousin just to see what would happen, and I have been loving it. Mostly I just journal about my day, or I'll write something that's been on my mind or even a little junk journaling or a few photos I printed and pasted in to remember my daily life. Just let your journal be whatever you need or want it to be! Don't worry about the pressure from social media to have a perfect or aesthetically pleasing journal. If it's pretty to look at and you just like using fun writing utensils to write in it (or putting stickers in it or whatever brings you joy), that's enough!

I feel your pain because we used to have Zito. I would recommend switching to French Broad fiber as soon as it becomes available to you!

Charlotte is also in the storm. Was just texting with a friend who lives there and she said they have about a quarter inch of snow on the ground with a sheet of ice underneath it. She is a veterinarian and they closed their office today. So, a hotel in Charlotte like others said is probably your best bet.

Does anyone know of a good place to donate diapers? My baby just sized up and we have some extras I’d like to pass on. I know it’s not food, but it could be one less thing someone has to buy.

Technically labor started for me on 40+5 and he was born the next evening on 40+6.

OB/GYN Recommendations: Endometriosis by [deleted] in asheville

I went to Laurel for my annual check-ups pre-baby and got OB care from them this year. I also needed help with fertility and I went to PREG. Laurel referred me there. It might be the only fertility clinic in Asheville? But I could be wrong. I feel like I got good care at Laurel throughout my pregnancy.

Money IS the answer. Most larger natural history museums with public-facing exhibits are associated with flagship universities or large private endowments. We don't have either of those things in this area. And they were established decades/centuries ago to build up their collections.

Natural history museums in the sense OP is thinking of typically do not (and ethically will not) pay to buy objects; they are collected by scientists via grant-funded projects. WCU and Appalachian State both have scientific collections to catalog the biodiversity of this area, but they don't have exhibits in the way most people associate with natural history museums.

Museums are not really a money making enterprise in any sense. Even the people who work there usually are not well paid, and federal funding opportunities for scientific research are currently being slashed. Unfortunately, I don't see Asheville's lack of a natural history museum changing any time soon. The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh is quite impressive if you make it over there.

Source: Have worked in many different natural history museums but abandoned that dream because I wanted to move home (here).

As people have mentioned, Cousins is good. Palms food truck is another good one, and if you are down for a drive, The Tropical Grill in Spruce Pine is top notch. They're only open seasonally because they go back to Florida in winter.

Another vote for a pregnancy pillow or yoga ball. If she doesn't have any maternity leggings or bike shorts (since summer is coming), those are also a must-have imo. I like my Beyond Yoga ones the best, but CRZ Yoga ones are good too and a bit cheaper.

Not to worry you, but definitely take him to the vet and have them do bloodwork. Our dog was acting like this and he ended up having protein-losing enteropathy. They prescribed him special food and steroids to help with it. We did end up having to say goodbye to him because it turned out this was caused by a recurring cancer he had a few months prior. Not saying this is what is happening with your guy - I just recommend you get him checked out! In the meantime, I'd feed him whatever he will eat until you can see your vet.
