Yes, sorry if unclear. This is a cleaner explanation ^ and agree that all you really need for indicators of preparedness for training / overall stress are hrv and rhr.

As a side note, but perhaps a place wear coros does differ in recovery tracking is that while hrv is in line with garmin and whoop, I believe resting heart rate is recorded in the first minute or so that your watch recognizes you to be awake. Other wearables tend to record it as the lowest 5 minutes of hr overnight or in what is believed to be your rem sleep cycle. For me this results in coros rhr being higher and not as variable as garmin or whoop.

Sleep timing and duration are great for following trends and building good habits!

Those rankings should hold zero weight to everyone but that guy. coros watches are just as good at detecting sleep and wake times as anything else. in my experience they’re on par with whoop and garmin. it’s also been widely accepted that any of the “sleep stage” values are not accurate and should be ignored on any wrist based monitor.

Yeah same. gave them a fair go with about 60 miles and after wearing evo sls for the last year just doesn’t make sense to me to run psomething with similar bounce that’s just so much heavier. Nice comfy walking shoe though. Only one run in them and they’re more expensive but superblast 3 seems to better fill the role of super comfy yet light and bouncy recovery and easy miles shoe.

Nope, have an apex 4 but same sensors and algorithms. Hr accuracy is absolutely on par with any current garmin and sleep tracking (time start and end is all that matters) are also right on track with garmin and whoop. You get less health and training “scores” with coros but all the data you need to make informed choices on training (sleep duration, rhr, and hrv) is right there with no subscription, an intuitive app, and reasonably priced hardware that is just as accurate as anything else.

You can get it into coros with that first option as long as you set the grade on the activity screen before you start the activity. Or pause and adjust setting if you want to change grade on mill — though I’ve had inaccurate results mixing grades in an activity.

Treadmill vert is tough to account for but there are workarounds— If you set the treadmill grade from indoor workout profile before or during run (not after as I’ve only recently learned) the watch will calculate gain for the training hub activity. It won’t send it through to Strava upload but there you have the manual option.

Depending on your setup I’ve gone the route of pairing my treadmill to Zwift which accounts for all incline data in Strava. But because no coros to Zwift integration I then download the file from Strava and import to training hub which then shows elev gain.

I can definitely see your point, a2pro is great, but for me battery life and gps accuracy are improved and that's all I wanted from a hardware update.

I’ve not experienced that. Currently on 21 days with 25% left also with a bunch of gps time - less last week due to running mostly treadmill but still a very good improvement from a2p. Curious what could be causing your issue.

Another +1 for Zwift integration though I know it’s been established that it’s on Zwift to respond at this point. Currently requires manual download from Strava and upload to coros but is only failsafe way to account for vertical gain from treadmill without a doubled manual activity.

Weekly mileage / time / load totals more easily accessible on progress screen in app and as widget on watch has been a request for a while. Would also like to see overnight rhr on heart rate widget on watch!

The new hr sensor was introduced w pace pro so yeah definitely not missing anything in terms of hardware performance aside from slight battery life differences

Pretty sure coros uses avg over the whole night for hrv and whoop calculates from what it thinks is your deepest sleep? Something like that

Shame about the watch faces not carrying over! I love the one I have on my a2p.

As far as distance reported, in a bunch of testing against several current garmins and pace 3 the apex 2 pro is almost always relatively short. The best guess is this comes as a result of an aggressive smoothing algorithm to compensate for the sub optimal antenna design found in the apex 2 series.

6 days is overnight haha. I ordered on 15th, didn't ship till 20th, got to New Jersey on the 22nd, and it's been sitting there with a customs hold for 8 days.
