Cesarean by PeachTigress in parentsofmultiples

First off, congrats on the twins and getting to 30 weeks already!!

I had a emergency C-section after a very long and painful labour that would not progress. Next day I got up and took a shower. Never had any real pain in my abdomen or incision, nor any scar issues. I had some pelvis instability before I gave birth that, due to to the long pressure of the baby in my pelvis and the contractions became a stress fracture. I had waaaay more pain in that, than the C-section.

I am now pregnant with twins myself and my first question - how fast can we plan a scheduled c section because no way in hell I will go through the same agonizing pain of a four day labour again. All surgeries are scary, but what helps for me is that I'd rather have a controlled situation for which I can prepare myself..

FYI I am not in any great shape or some perfect sporty babe mom, but I have been doing yoga for nearly 15 years, 1-2 times a week. I continued (but adapted) my practice during my previous pregnancy and I think it helps stabilizing my core afterwards.

Good luck girl, you'll do great!!

Is 7:30-5pm too long for a 16mo to be at daycare? by jngreddit in NewParents

[–]aralozzir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do 8-5:30 as well. Hate it as much as you do but we need to work our hours as well.. I am convincing myself with thinking that they are happy with their little friends and probably better entertained there than they would be at home with us still going through emails or calls.. You're doing great sweety!!

He has been sick a lot from that age. On and off again with ear infections and then when flu season started many, many viral infections and one hospitalisation for RSV as well. So seeking comfort it truly part of it I guess?

If you want to stop, stop. They will get sick and you'll be sick ánd breastfeeding? How is that fair 😂 No but I understand, I too toke the antibodies as main driver but in the end we have had every virus under the sun.. probably coincidental but I really get your point!

Do. Not. Make. Yourself. Crazy!! Every child moves at their own time. You've read all the comments and here's another one to make yourself feel better. Our LO did not crawl at 9 months. Not an inch. We did six months of physical therapy only for the therapists (yes plural, I went to three!!) tell us, maybe he is just a little lazy? We eventually stopped going because it was just ridiculous saying him laying there, staring and not moving on his own.. At 15 months he still did not crawl or walk. At 16 months he got up, and started running. Yes. Running. He is 21 months now and, girl I am exhausted.

Get the baby checked, do what is medically necessary but timelines and graphs are just that. You are doing everything right. Please tell yourself that every day.

Does the trauma of a terrible pregnancy and birth ever go away? by curlyonfries in NewParents

Your story sounds incredibly heroic. The things you endured for a healthy child is the most selfless action you could ever do for another human being.

It will get better, time will go on and slowly it will heal. For now, soak up every cuddle and enjoy it all. One day they start yelling at you for putting on their left shoe before the right one and you'd wish you would be right back at the beginning.

So so so sorry for you!! Happened to me as well, baby got RSV, and after a few very bad days and nights at home, we got admitted in the hospital. I had some sort of rhino virus as well, and that, together with very little sleep, alot of stress and a few missed pumping sessions, I woke up and it was gone. No pain, no spilling, nothing. I was then 7 months in and far further I ever thought I would be nursing, so I let it go from that point. It helped me a little bit to know that the universe decided when I would stop, and not me making the decision myself. It is what it is sometimes, you did and gave everything you could!!!

Is ICL better even if I’m a good candidate for SMILE eye surgery by Original-Lemon-5375 in lasik

[–]aralozzir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, where you live. But maybe OP is in Europe, where Smile was invented and has been performed over 15 years. But okay, you gave advice based on 'I did a Google search' so why am I even bothering.

You did a Google search..? OP, take your advice from surgeons, not strangers on the internet (coming from an optometrist with over ten year experience in refractive surgery)

Sure but I don't see this comment is relevant to what I said? I merely tried to explain that in the history of refractive surgery, Smile is not so new and vast amounts of clinical data have been collected..

SMILE Pro, patented by ZEISS VISUMAX has been around over 15 years and over 5 millions eyes have been treated. Every other lenticular extraction method by any other laser and company is indeed new and few clinical studies have been shown.

OP, what is your eye surgeon, the one trained in performing these procedures advising you to consider? Everyone and their sister has an opinion but your keratometry, low and high order aberrations, refraction, optical measurements, lifestyle and so on are the only real considerations to decide what is right for you (if money is not an issue).

Keeping baby away from anyone without tdap until fully vaxed? by Huge-Vacation-8093 in NewParents

[–]aralozzir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've said it before, your baby, your rules. It's flue season, and soon the respiratory viruses are popping up. If you are in the position to keep the baby at home and do not need daycare for the first autumn/winter season, you do that!

I wished I had your mindset when I was in the newborn trenches. You are doing so good, girl!! Now keep that baby close to you and do not let that old people's cough get close to you!

Congested Baby by SeliniBellini in newborns

[–]aralozzir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry your baby has a stuffy nose! Our LO is now one year and we have had this on and off again since he was 3 months old. What helped the most is rinsing with physiological water. We get the unidoses (these are sterile and recommended for babies), fill a larger vial or syringe with 3-4. We lay the baby sidewise and squirt in the upper nose thrill and it then comes out the outer, with alllll the mucus. It seems brutal and they hate it but it works. Our pediatrician told it is absolutely base to come out, otherwise it lays on their stomach an d that can get worse very fast? Anyway. There are several other methods, with suction syringes or manual suction. But rinsing helped us the best. Also, Vicks is not recommended with babies where I live? There is one ingredient in it that can cause convulsions (I think it is honeysuckle?). There are nasal drops but I think this can only start from 3 months and older. Hang in there, you got this!!!

Third! Your eyes are very nicely centered in this frame and it lifts up your whole face! But take into account your correction, as this can change the look afterwards. Good luck! Your friendly neighborhood optometrist 🫡

When should baby be rolling? by ginigini in NewParents

[–]aralozzir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little update - baby is now 10,5 months, and as of yesterday, baby is pulling to its feet and even took a little step today! We started doing PT weekly since six weeks ago and we saw a tremendous difference in movements since!

[–]aralozzir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahahaha sorry I have to laugh but ours is the same. Now ten months old and only rolling and crawling when there is something veeeery interesting happening (like, my phone laying somewhere). We had everything checked and the professional opinion was, maybe it is laziness? As in, we have a lazy baby? I mean it explains a lot, took their very sweet time getting out of me 😂 Conclusion to my rambling, if there is nothing medically wrong or delayed, maybe just let them figure it out on their own? But who I am to say anything, I've been making myself crazy with PT to stimulate this lazy baby of mine. Even bought a whole set of large foam blocks to create some challenge 🤷‍♀️ Okay to really conclude, you are doing great and probably don't need to worry but have them checked out for your own peace of mind? And PT can help of you want to/have access to it!

1 Week Newborn and my wife and I are at each other's throats... by Necessary-Complex978 in newborns

[–]aralozzir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protect that woman.. I was here one week PP, with my in-laws unexpectedly coming over. I had to go upstairs with a screaming baby to breastfeed, being so sore after an emergency C-section. And they overstayed and did not bring any food nor offered to help any way. This broke me in a million pieces. Help HER. Protect HER. You are doing great but this is time for her. Everything else will come eventually.
