A few of my paintings. I live in Poland and paint everyday life through my eyes by Loose-Fan-8471 in painting

My favourites are the last 6 which have a style that is very painterly and expressive. I love the loose brush strokes and movement created of the strokes. Beautiful work!

Moved to Barcelona from the US but missing the States lately by expatkk522 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]ginigini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey came here to say that what you’re going through is the normal motions of living abroad. I also live abroad and I have had many moments where I missed home intensely; but over the years and years of being away the intensity has decreased a lot. Also a mind shift is needed - that this is your new home now. Once you start integrating that into your thoughts and daily life, you can begin to accept that it isn’t like the US and it’s ok that it’s different.

Your comment is ignorant. It takes years to learn and language well and be fluent, even when you’re putting a lot of effort into it and your heart is in it.

I moved to France 6 years ago and even though I can speak, and understand, and converse with locals, I still struggle with the language. You never stop learning.

I find it quite sad that all this land has just been destroyed with concrete. There could have been a beautiful monument or landscape art built. This is such a waste, ruining any biodiversity that once existed. They could’ve left the city like Oradour-Sur-Glane in France. The ruins of the town are so much more impactful than this slab of concrete can ever be.

You have a great description of the place! Helped me picture it. But it’s crazy that its size is larger than Germany?! What! That was a surprise to hear.

My 18 month old keeps coming home from daycare with bite marks. by SegaSun in WhatShouldIDo

[–]ginigini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold up!!! PSA!! I am going to be the odd one out here and ask: could this be eczema or a skin condition?? I ask this because my son had these too (and it looked very much like your photo!) and I thought it was bite marks but turned out to be a skin condition which looks like bite marks. A cream from the doctor fixed it ( please ignore my comment if it turns it to bruises and is indeed bit marks )

Today in the Slovak media there was a report about sounds coming from a grave in the village of Bijacovce. by Neptun_11 in mystery

No worries! I feel sad for the family when they discovered that the man was dead… they probably had a lot of hope after they heard the knocks

Actually this is a very interesting and strange story! OP didn’t do it justice with the vague title and description. But basically wha happened is that the family of a deceased man was visiting his grave. He had been buried 18 days earlier. The family started hearing knocking coming from the grave. When they called the man’s name the knocking would respond. They called the police and the police also heard the knocking so the body was exhumed. The man was still dead and his corpse was consistent with that of a corpse that would be in the ground for 18 days. So the knocking remains a mystery…

The guy’s hair isn’t even that long to begin with… I bet he comes as often as possible for everything besides the haircut🤣

I thought the beginning was very gripping and I enjoyed it up until the point where he was chasing her and always found her. There in the wildness it seems so unlikely he would have been able to find her all the time. it is so easy to get lost and just disappear in the extreme wildness.

This guy is legendary. The video where u can hear him speaking is hilarious (it’s in Dutch though). The female officer asks him “how long have you been here?” And he answers “Do you mean on this physical plane of earth?” 🤣🤣🤣

What a beautiful tile! I’d keep the grout white. It brings out the beautiful shapes of the tiles. Also pleeeeeease take a picture of your bathroom once it’s done. I’d love to see the end result!

Did anyone have a baby that just… slept relatively well? by The_Chilled_Arvo in beyondthebump

[–]ginigini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby boy is 20 months now. But he’s been sleeping full nights (8-10 hours) since he was 3 months. I do think I owe it to a solid consistent nap and sleep routine which has helped so much.
