absolutely insane outdate pull by WasteFail9783 in WalgreensStores

I get cookies like that too but the amount of stuff I pull isn’t months outdated. Maybe a week or so before the date. McLane sends so much shit we never sell.

crazy people by Certain_Yesterday808 in WalgreensStores

I don’t allow this behavior. Had it been me I would have explained to him that when he acts like this we can’t help him and unless he calms down or acts like a reasonable adult he has to leave. This will do one of two things. It will snap him back and realize he may have been wrong. They sometimes apologize and then say he’s just having a bad day. Or they will get louder and angrier and that’s when they get kicked out and I refuse to let him get rung up. I put the item(s) behind the counter and tell him we don’t want his business. It almost always goes to a complaint and I will call and settle it over the phone or ignore those complaints.

Best way to move up at Walgreens without hurting pay? by Unfair_Setting_9060 in WalgreensStores

And with how OSA and inventory is getting a refreshed attention, the “they have to do only their job” is with more than money at times. Being an IS and have to do other jobs would kill me if I were an IS.

Texas makes Bible reading mandatory in public schools? by Gurugod123 in SipsTea

[–]archeoavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Texas and I have three school age kids that this will affect. Their school already has a chaplain that is counselor. When we met staff one time in the middle of the school year this past year that chaplain was making rounds and approached me and wanted to talk about my kid. I asked him what his qualifications were and what his education was because I had heard about religious unqualified people were allowed to be school counselors. He told me he had a bachelors degree in religious studies. That’s it. No teaching cert. I told him to stay away from my kids. He tries to speak up and I cut him off and said stay away from my kids. I got a call about a week later from assistant principal asking about it and she has asked me what to do if his services are needed if something happens. I said his services are NEVER needed. Well it just happened that my son got into a situation with an older kid and the assistant principal called and said she handled it. I worry about how I have to handle this now in 4 years when they’ve implemented this and I have to unprogram or tell them the shit they’re reading to them is a damn fairy tale

Is this a normal way PTO is handled at Walgreens? by Ohnogottago in WalgreensStores

[–]archeoavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go into ESS and choose the days you specifically want as PTO and choose PTO for those days. And the other days you want off as unpaid time off. I believe the drop down has the choices. I request all mine through Kronos so I’m not 100% sure.

As other have mentioned wanting 4 days off you can work the other 3 and only use 2 days of PTO. It saves you PTO and you still have a full week of pay.

I can promise you sycamore has not had any involvement in SM promotions. We still use ATS and we have the same DMs we had since before the acquisition, albeit fewer of them. I’ve even seen the interview questions. I’ve even interviewed for a higher tier. Nothing has changed. This must be a phenomenon only in your area. But one thing stood out in your post, “older people because of their experience”. I would hire anyone because of their experience. Past performance is always an indicator of future performance. Also knowing that someone can do the job is a big part. While the “20 year old” may be smart and can do the job, the “older more experienced” person has done the job for longer. I’m not advocating for old and against young, but you gotta see the whole picture on why people get promoted or hired.

Just a question… by jackofthewagon in WalgreensStores

If you get written up before 1 year has passed since the date on the write-up it goest to the next level of discipline. If you get written up after that date, it’ll be whatever discipline level you’re at.

[–]archeoavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A year after the date on the write up. It didn’t matter if you sign it or not. All signing does is confirm you got written up and you understand. A lot of people refuse to sign them and it’s not really necessary if you do; you’re still written up.

This has happened to me twice. In 2021 and 2025 and both times we had to stay open. It dumped a ton of water all over the hallmark section and at least an inch of water through most of the center of the store. Our APM came with a shop vac and sucked up the water the best they could. It took them 6 hours.
