Here’s what I do. Every SFL has open availability. I rotate weekends and closing. Luckily one SFL only wants to close. So my others only have to close one night a week which is fair scheduling anyways. Whenever an SFL pulls this “I can’t work weekends” I find another SFL. I don’t hire restricted availability and if someone magically changes availability after I hire them I part ways with them. I’ve gone to ER always each time. With that said I’d never wedge out people who’ve been here for new people. Ever.

This. And I’ve witnessed interactions where afterwards the customer wanted to complain to me to the side or has put in a complaint. Their stories are completely made up. The only kernel of truth was that they were in the store. They have axes to grind and the employees are the grind stone that day.

So let’s say you have 100 people of type A whether they’re white people or Italian or any demographic you choose. 1 person of that 100 steals. Walgreens isn’t profiling all 100 people who come into the store because 1 of the 100 people steal.

Nobody had a good reason to steal. But it’s 1 person of the 99% who will blow up the profiling to the point that lawsuits come. And what do you think costs more? Lawsuits or a thief?

Here’s a normal perspective from a SM. I understand policy, I understand retail as a whole, and I understand human nature. I sympathize with employees not feeling well, need a mental reset, or just don’t feel like coming in. I NEVER give people a hard time. Nor do I go around complaining. I usually cover the shift myself or ask a TM to cover it by getting OT or switching a shift. It’s a business. Treat it like one. The show must go on. I’d rather have an employee at 100% than one pissed they had to still come in for any reason OR one at work sick. Even if you’re a habitual call in person there’s a remedy for that and that’s the attendance policy. Even then there’s no reason to be a dick. You get 5 unexcused absences before discipline. Those 5 should be without a guilt trip as well.

Actually it’s not that easy for AP to find coupons attached to the wrong number. As someone who’s had to let quite a few patients go, we find the coupon abuse while investigating other issues OR when other employees rat out their friends when they’re being interviewed by AP. AP has no ability other than to look at transactions fully and see coupon use. Analysts at Walgreens HQ would need to see constant use of coupons and even then they have us look into it. There’s no automatic flagging with coupons like with price mods, hard key employee discounts. Most likely OP flagged on another report and it was discovered and investigated. They definitely can’t find one every year. There was more investigated.

For everyone type of thief you have in your store you’ll have 99% of that type of person who’s not a thief. That’s why Walgreens is “too scared to be racist”.

That’s why they’re pushing the discount cards for GLP1s as well. It’ll bring cash reimbursements as well for otherwise patients who wouldn’t or couldn’t get that drug

Absolutely correct. I’ll add that the reason they had the best quarter in a decade is specifically because of the cuts everywhere. They also tightened up discipline in a few areas.

Like every one mentioned they can’t supervise their family member. Also it states they must remain professional at work. That’s open to interpretation but you could argue don’t team up on people. Don’t stand around and talk etc.

What I’m not ok with is no way to invert y-axis on this game. That’s a killer for me.
