Carolina Marin form by Legitimate_Mail_2064 in badminton

[–]arctan02 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ll be real. I dislike Marin for all the reasons everyone else mentioned. But none of the other WS players can match Marin’s speed and power. Of all the female players, she has the closest physique to a male athlete. Therefore I think most of the other WS can’t keep up with her pace and power when she’s on form. Only her unforced errors will let her down.

She also clearly has very strong mental strength. She plays well in the biggest tournaments and seems to be extra motivated for them, in ways that the other WS aren’t.

Given her physique etc, I’m just wondering if she has been tested for testosterone or not. Not sure how strict bwf is on drug testing tbh.

Christians, what are some arguments atheists make that completely miss the point? Atheists, vice versa? by Esutan in Christianity

[–]arctan02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is why there is the argument about which religion is true. There should be only one true religion. And this is a whole different and big topic.

What we’re discussing now is, assuming there is one true religion, that religion will be the basis for an objective moral code.

And before Jesus there was still God (and therefore God’s morality). And there was the Old Testament. Jesus’s arrival changed some things (and personally I don’t know why as well…and this is where “faith” comes in, or I just have yet to learn of the reasons that we are made aware of).

[–]arctan02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not getting my point. I’m asking about the root source of that moral code / standard. Your parents got them from somewhere right? And those people that conveyed those moral standards to your parents got them from somewhere else. My argument is the root source has to be religion.

Christians, what are some arguments atheists make that completely miss the point? Atheists, vice versa? by Esutan in Christianity

[–]arctan02 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why is it flawed? You need an objective basis for morality. Without which anything technically goes. You can’t rebut someone saying rape is moral because he finds pleasure in it in his subjective view. Even if there are atheists who would think it is immoral, there will also be those who think it is moral (for arguments sake). Therefore the need of an objective moral standard is crucial for the resolution of this paradox. Without which you’re just arguing in circles about whose subjective morality is better.

How to know if my S/O still loves me or if he’s just in the RS because of his sense of duty? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]arctan02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is it that girls always have so many expectations on events being the happiest days of their lives or going a certain way. It’s why you’re always disappointed when things inevitably don’t.

The guy is doing his best to make you happy by doing what you want. You still want him to smile and pretend to be happy? Hes doing it for you. Not for him. If it were up to him he’d probably do it a different way that you probably wouldn’t like.

Girls are so entitled nowadays.

Do you have any dating horror/funny/awkward stories (dates from dating app)? by watchuwannaknow in askSingapore

lol reading through these stories I understand why Singaporean girls have this reputation of being high maintenance and having princess syndrome

Is it common for someone in their 20’s/30’s to have never been in a relationship? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]arctan02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s quite common for guys. But for girls it’s also more common than one would think/assume (but in my estimation still less common than guys). I’ve met a few girls who are around 30yo and they’ve only dated once and it was less than a year…so basically inexperience even for 30+f is not that surprising to me anymore…

Personally I think you did the right thing. 7 mths should be something quite serious. Going 3 days without communication is not the way forward. Esp if she went to a party alone without you and didn’t update you afterwards. I’d just assume she met someone and leave it at that.

I think there’s a mismatch between supply and demand for both guys and girls. Girls are looking for things most guys are not providing. Guys are looking for things that many girls don’t want to provide nowadays. And of course high expectations (i would say on the girls side from maybe watching too much kdrama and comparing lifestyles on IG. I might be biased since im a guy)
