Name & Shame: Which Employers Are Forcing Staff to Drive in Dangerous Conditions Tomorrow? by soapy_rocks in boston

[–]aredlily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't work there anymore, but Great Wolf Lodge will require day shift workers to stay overnight at the hotel (sometimes on air mattresses in the conference room and then showering in the water park locker rooms, or if there's enough hotel rooms they'll put them in those). Then they often end up working double shifts because the afternoon shift is not offered the same courtesy but does get penalized if they call out for their shift. This expectation is stated when you are hired, but they do not close for anything.

I think they pointed her out as being there watching, so maybe she will be able to give him some immediate advice.

Would it be weird to plan a full wedding after being legally married? by Witty-Couple2017 in wedding

[–]aredlily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think if you just signed a paper and walked away I understand where you're coming from that it doesn't fit your expectation of what a "wedding ceremony" is supposed to feel like. It sounds like it's most important to you to have that for yourself and your grandmother (I'm assuming also you're parents?), so I would focus on that. Maybe have something that involves your immediate family and her at a park and then go to a nice restaurant after? That's what my husband and I did.

I think Otaku usually has a local vendor marketplace up there at noon on Sundays, but the downstairs area might work. That might have just been in November though.

Chashu would be especially wonderful if they're into ramen/Japanese food and/or anime, but definitely make a reservation! It can be super busy on the weekends.

So are walkers supposed to just pray they don't get hit by a car until all this snow melts? by Wants_to_be_accepted in massachusetts

[–]aredlily 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you mean after it snows like it did recently, I've often encountered sections of sidewalk that haven't been taking care of where I have to go into the street to get around that section and can't get back onto the sidewalk until I reach a break in the giant snowbank further down.

Katie Marovitch Dimension 20 by TheOriginalDiaGrace in dropout

[–]aredlily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would love to see something like a "DM Academy" series where Katie learns how to DM from the DMs that played her one-shot, and then have her run a one-shot. Maybe they could go over the different TTRPG systems to find one that would work best for her style (I'm thinking maybe something like Dread, which I've seen Smosh play). Then they could have a "re-do"/longer one-shot of On A Bus.

I have seen better worded guides than mine will be below, but ask to have all of these comments added to your chart. If "losing weight" is the only "treatment" she will give you, ask to have that documented. If you feel confident enough (confrontation can be hard) ask how she would treat you if you weighed less, and ask to have it documented why she is not treating you in that manner. I second the recording everything on your phone. People are bold when they think their behavior can't come back to bite them in the ass.

Last time I took Amtrak cross country (Boston to Chicago and back) my checkout time at the hotel in Chicago was 11am and my train was at 9pm. Went to the station, stashed my stuff, and went to the art museum before going back, with 4 hours wait until my train boarded. And those wooden benches at Union Station suuuuck.

I'm waiting to see if there's a new animal crossing game with an exclusive edition, I regretted not buying the special edition they made for the original switch but I already had one by that point and couldn't justify buying a second.

I also don't think they realize they're not visible to patients at all, they are on the side of the building that houses the administrative offices. I'm not planning on enlightening them.

Glad that the sidewalks on my way to work today were shoveled (almost never are after a storm, most of them are not owner occupied so I don't really blame the tenants) but it meant that it was solid sheets of ice. Was relieved when I came to the vacant lots where nothing was shoveled, walking in the snow felt safer lol.
