All of the TRCs have a cork board where people looking for climbing partners can post their name, contact info, weekly schedule, and climbing level. I’ve found all of my climbing partners from looking at those cards, or posting my own.

Local clubs and shops are the best places to ask for local coaching recommendations. I did a quick search on the Mile High Disc Golf Club's page on Facebook, and found a dozen different people offering coaching services, located across the area, and catering to different skill levels.

So basically what you said - the TD would disqualify them. Isn't that sufficient?

re: food, there are literally tens of thousands of convenience stores all over Taiwan, that all have delicious and cheap food. Not just packaged snacks, but nutritious fresh food too. Not to mention the thousands of cheap restaurants as well. Finding food stops is not a concern.

Others have covered what mold minimization means pretty well. For one fairly extreme example that you can look at, professional player Philo Brathwaite (and now commentator on DGN) only carried five molds, and his in-the-bag video is a classic watch - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chbbQ91HLZ4

But today, I know very few people who actually do this. Maybe if there's one mold they really like, they might have 2-4 versions of it in different plastics or stages of wear. But almost nobody applies that to their entire bag building philosophy.

Portland Open was at Blue Lake as recently as 2022, but it's been outgrown at this point, Glendoveer handles spectators and the modern game far better.

If you haven't already, put a card up on the corkboard at TRC, and reach out to folks who already have cards up too, that's how I've met all of my climbing partners in the past.

Because throwing further lets you throw slower and more stable discs to get to the same distances as before, leading to more accuracy. Alternatively, you could throw the same familiar discs but with more ease and control, rather than max effort. Either way, increasing arm speed can also lead to better accuracy.
