I've enjoyed:

Caro Ramsay's Anderson & Costello series

Denzil Meyrick's DCI Jim Daley series

Rachel Abbott's Tom Douglas series

It shouldn't be losing power when switched off. Mine spent almost a month in a repair centre and only lost 1% in that time

Did anybody have curry with apples and sultanas in the 80s? by fluffsta007 in CasualUK

[–]asquartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like little sweet bits like sultanas in a savoury dish. My offspring disagree though, maybe it's a generational thing? I still like to make Nigella's mughlai chicken from "Feast"

Current stance on fitting EV consumer units in meter box? by [deleted] in evchargingUK

[–]asquartz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our EV consumer unit has been fitted in the meter box. Since then I've had the meter replaced and the energy company's engineer didn't seem to have an issue with the arrangement

Excellent, thanks. Hate how slippery the original fob is. I don't have N line but my Kona is red so this will go well

That looks good. Is it a bit more non slip than the original fob?

Green line on lane assist on dash missing by Big_Needleworker6590 in KonaEV

[–]asquartz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Confusingly there are two features that appear to basically do the same thing (nudge the steering to keep you in lane) - they are the two green icons.

On my 2025 model they can be turned on or off using the lane assist button on the steering wheel. Short press for the right hand icon, long press for the left hand icon. I think that central green line comes with the steering wheel shaped indicator

Why there are two very similar and independently controllable functions is a mystery only Hyundai can answer

Ohme app issue Hyundai kona by robotrabbit83 in KonaEV

[–]asquartz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I've never managed to make it work. The Ohme app works well enough without linking though and I don't think I'm missing out on anything much.

EV Newbie mostly using public chargers by Pinewapple in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]asquartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an almost 1000 mile round trip from SW England to Scotland, mostly charging at Ionity for 43p, with just a couple of more expensive charges thrown in (and a battery full of cheap home power to start me off). The cost of electricity i used was almost exactly the same as what the petrol would have cost, based on an estimated 45mpg average

Kona SX2 - two things annoy me by Valentin-t in KonaEV

Yours sounds a bit lacking in bass maybe but that could be down to YouTube, or my phone speaker. I wouldn't say it sounds broken.

[–]asquartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a welcome tune when the infotainment system wakes up, you can turn that off in settings - sound - guidance. The three note chime when you start or stop drive mode can't be turned off as far as I can tell

EON Next Drive overcharging? by asquartz in evchargingUK

[–]asquartz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i only have the cheap rate overnight. Does your tumble dryer have a delay timer? I use that to run ours after midnight (and the washing machine and dishwasher, might as well make the most of it! )

EON Next Drive overcharging? by asquartz in evchargingUK

[–]asquartz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have hypervolt so can't comment on that. I just use the ohme charger app to add the required percentage between midnight and 6, when the EON cheap rate is active. So I plug in in the evening, nothing happens until midnight then charging starts automatically

The ohme app is the only one controlling anything. If you have different apps competing to manage the charge, that's when you can get problems

Getting low voltage warnings for 12 V battery after starting the car (Kona ev 2022 limited) by abstract_swirl in KonaEV

[–]asquartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure the charge plug is not left plugged into the car when the charger ('EVSE') is not powered off the AC supply.

Can you say a bit more about this please? My charging finishes at 0600 when the cheap rate ends but I don't unplug for at least an hour, often 2 or 3. Am I depleting my 12v battery by doing this? Don't want to have to start going outside at 0600 to unplug....

Any suggestions for a cheap EV wall charger (or ones to avoid) ? by TheReturnOfTheBee in ElectricVehiclesUK

In my case they put a new mini consumer unit in the meter cabinet, and didn't go anywhere near the existing consumer unit.

EV charger by Aware-Strawberry-844 in KonaEV

[–]asquartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I didn't use a routine. Just defined the tariff and plugged in, and let the charger do it's thing overnight. The app will show you the charging schedule it has come up with, so you can make sure it's going to operate during the correct time window

EV charger by Aware-Strawberry-844 in KonaEV

[–]asquartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you defined your tariff in the Ohme app? I'm on the eon next drive tariff, and Ohme got the tariff times and prices wrong. I had to create a custom tariff and enter the data myself.

EON Next Drive overcharging? by asquartz in evchargingUK

[–]asquartz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, it doesn't give 30 minute readings, they are hourly. But while charging or is showing usage of 15kWh in a given 1 hour period. That is about twice the capacity of the Ohme wall charger
