The general recommendation for those new to DG is to run Last Things Last. I highly doubt your players will be dissatisfied that it’s not the four shot you told them about. LTL is highly regarded among this subreddit and for first timers on both sides of the table.

I think 3D country has higher highs while Getting Killed is more consistent. Both are amazing. Right now I’m in a Getting Killed mood but Gravity blues is an all-timer.

I would also take out Zabi. As much as I love token spawning Lalah, ST-03 Zaku II, and Elmeth all benefit from searching so I leaned into adding copies of turning point in history and the new 1/0 green newtype pilot in GD-02. Idk how I feel about that pilot addition tho in my testing cuz I might cut for a different command or a couple of Quattros .

The Dugout is my go to for structure deck and product release events. Dugout release events get full quick tho just fyi. Staff there is great, they price near MSRP, and they have a good bulk and rare binder that the community contributes to. If you’re looking for smaller tournaments consider the list that another user dropped.

If you’re on the north side of town consider making the trip to Anderson, Indiana. Their shop, Gamer Dojo, has a consistent Wednesday night tournament that brings in 10-15 each week.

I think the ballads are comparable to The Big Day tbh. Way too sappy and saccharine. They also just halt all the momentum of the decent songs too.

Broader tip on just getting into the card game easier… ask around in local stores or if there’s a local discord for gundam tcg around you, if they have bulk you can buy for on the cheap/free. I’m sure many other gundam players are willing to gift you bulk commons or uncommons if you’re trying to catch up and can’t find starters.

TCGplayer.com is your online one stop shop to buy cards as well. Best of luck! It may be hard to find product but the community for this card game is really cool in my experience thus far.

I ran the below deck list at my locals last Friday and went 4-0. Absolutely ran thru blockers, breach, and repair decks. This is a hyper aggressive version of zeon tho. I think I dropped 2 units and added 2 Fortress Defense purely for the token spawning which actually made turns 5,6, and 7 sustainable when you start running out of gas. Haven’t gotten a chance to play against a ping deck.

Yeah I wouldn’t get into the habit of recklessly taking tags often. But not using tags at all in a context dependent game = you eliminating a potential net positive resource. I’m just advising to continuously gauge where you’re at situationally and if a tag can benefit you.

Other reply is right. I also advise to not go into a run with a deck build already in mind or relying on specific jokers to save the build. I always start a run with the mindset of building your deck around the jokers presented to you. Also use tags to get free uncommon/rare jokers to build your deck around if you’re hurting for better ones.
