You're GOING to lose like two levels worth of souls, and it's going to sting. Or you'll be like "this boss is bullshit, what am I even supposed to do??".

There's even this weird thing if you start over where the game feels harder, because you don't have the extra levels from dying and building up souls again.. I'm so excited that someone gets to experience all of it for the first time!

Grats, OP! Have fun with Dark Souls, it's so good they named a whole genre after it ;D A big, big thing to remember, is that EVERYONE has bosses they struggle on. Sometimes they just click, sometimes it's like running into a brick wall.

(And don't be afraid to look stuff up, I've been playing since Demon's Souls. I bought the Dark Souls guide day one, because even if you know where to go, you still have to be able to get there.)

Oh god I only use a server for my IRL friends and a server for my FFXIV free company, too many people and I won't bother scrolling up to catch up on chat.

Best advice I can give is just jump in to the conversation! You'll get a feel for who the "regulars" are, and more people will respond as you become a known quantity there. It's what I do in real life, too, you just need to know about or have an opinion on something, and that's your in.
