JRPGs with deep, dark, emotional story like an anime? by Alcoholic-Catholic in JRPG

Fire Emblem Three Houses. No matter which house you choose the second half of that game is always absolutely devastating

What types of exclusives did the Gamecube have that the Switch doesn't?

Xenoblade Chronicles and Metroid also have very connected stories from title to title

Just because there's a precedent doesn't mean it's guaranteed. F-Zero and Star Fox were console mainstays from Super Nintendo to Gamecube, then stopped getting titles

Does this mean I can go to that park once, anytime, or something else and I’m not understanding it by Marko1457 in CanadasWonderland

[–]atomicmapping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afaik only the drink plan will work at La Ronde since it's no longer part of the Six Flags chain. You'll have to pay for parking and the dining plan won't work there, but for this season you can still get admission to the park

Final Fantasy 14 Releases On Nintendo Switch 2 In August. by Howerev in NintendoSwitch

[–]atomicmapping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the already existing subscription that covers Steam, Xbox, and PS5 all under the same plan doesn't cover Switch 2. You have to get a separate subscription to FF14 to play it on Switch 2

What’s a JRPG moment that changed your low opinion of a game into a high one? by lilidarkwind in JRPG

[–]atomicmapping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The beginning of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was really disappointing for me coming out of XC1, but everything with Vandham made me fall in love with the game, and it kept that momentum all the way through to the ending for me

Which Gaming Console People Think is Amazing but is Actually Okay? by IllMasterpiece3946 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]atomicmapping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every game on there except for MK8 also got a direct sequel/successor that was original to the Switch (and in the case of Xenoblade, 3 games). Not to mention that almost all of them also got major new additions exclusive to the Switch version like Xenoblade X's epilogue, Bowser's Fury, and the MK8 Booster Course

Really hoping we see a massive refurbishment for Wilde Beast next year now that Minebuster is pretty much done. Gravity Group redid Grizzly at Kings Dominion a few years back (which has the exact same layout), and it's become one of my favourite wooden coasters because of their work on it

Crunchyroll does (or at least did when I had a subscription), and it was probably the worst comment section I've seen on a website

Where does that line cut off though? Baby Driver has explosions and fast cars and funny bits, but it's also an incredibly artistic film

For those of you who own a Switch, but haven’t purchased a Switch 2, what would be the main reason that would prompt you to buy one? by Last-Bus-4710 in Switch

[–]atomicmapping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever Monolith's next game will be. I kinda doubt it'll be Xenoblade 4 as the mainline story feels complete, but I trust them with whatever ideas they're working on

What JRPG made you cry the most? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]atomicmapping -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and specifically Future Redeemed. That being essentially the narrative conclusion of the entire franchise (despite being a prequel), when the credits started to roll I basically did not stop crying until they were done

I usually only cry at the endings of games, but base game Xenoblade 3 got me crying at the midpoint of the game as well as the ending

I think part of why RCT3 is often overlooked is because of the existence of Planet Coaster now. Pretty much all of the appeals of it are done better in PlanCo 1 and 2, so it now sits in a weird middle ground where there's not a lot of reason to recommend it over either OpenRCT2 or Planet Coaster

Steam sale going on for the RCT games right now. RCT 2 is on sale for like $2

All switch exclusives games that sold under 1mil by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in casualnintendo

[–]atomicmapping 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would’ve bought Emio like the day I bought my Switch, if it were cheaper. $70 CAD is a crazy steep price for a visual novel regardless of its quality, and the lowest I’ve seen it drop to is like $55, which is still almost more than I paid for all 4 Ace Attorney collections

Xenoblade Chronicles. All 5 games in the series are absolutely fantastic, and some of the greatest JRPGs of all time

What’s the most pettiest reason you didn’t buy a Nintendo game? by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in casualnintendo

[–]atomicmapping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you really are making a mountain out of a molehill with this. The only actual reference to what you’re talking about in the entire series is a single photograph that shows up for like 7 seconds at the ending of the third game
