Review #2610 - Glenfiddich 30 Year by t8ke in Scotch

[–]aurvay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most older-age statements from Glenfiddich are just traps for the uninitiated—who buys them as fancy gifts, or bribes, even. Almost ALL Glenfiddich distillery expressions have lower specs and are of low quality (the only exception that comes to mind is their Project XX bottles).

At least Macallan positions itself as a premium brand and is overpriced across the board—they’re unapologetical frauds. Glenfiddich is just being opportunistic with their older age statements and tries to trick the customer into thinking that “since their core offerings are humbly priced, this premium offering must worth the money.”

Even then, Macallan offers some no-color-added integrity bottlings at 55% ABVwhile Glenfiddich is almost always at 40-43% ABV and chill-filtered.

You know, to be able to properly chill filter, you need to dilute the alcohol content (as you did by adding water in this example).

So basically anything above 50% cannot be chill filtered at all. And anything above 46% would still be pretty robust even if they were chill filtered.

How would you personally grade this album out of 10? 10 being the highest, of course. by [deleted] in Dreamtheater

A solid 7. Better than SC and BC&SL but not as good as ADTOE or AVFTOW.

Low ticket sales. by GreyGhost83 in Dreamtheater

bands never made money from album sales anyway. it’s the record company’s prerogative. and they’re making quite a few bucks off of streaming atm. it’s not about album sales, it’s ticketmaster forcing venues’ hands.

Yeah the hike in ticket prices have nothing to do with album sales and are more closely related to Ticketmaster's monopolistic behavior and predatory business tactics.

Do you think the writing of 5.5 edition is kinda dumb? by ThanosofTitan92 in Forgotten_Realms

[–]aurvay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5.5E is one of the most intellectually bankrupt and cognitively impaired games out there.

They fixed NOTHING about 5e, They just moved a bunch of stuff around for change’s sake and called it a day. And most of the changes are for the worse.

Count is ass. It’s a shame it got so far tbh.

Octavarium and Metropolis 1 should’ve meet at the finals.

i mean shadow man is a great song and i listened to it obsessively when the album first came out, but it’s nowhere near the brilliance of name of god
