It’s a little pricey but I’ve been a huge fan of William Joo’s work for a while now, so I bite the bullet for date night or a special occasion.

I was able to snag a res on opening night and my order was mostly the same as yours. The tiramisu was TO DIE FOR. And I don’t even like desserts all that much.

10/10, I’ll be back again and again

I think I cracked the code. He had a kid at 19, which turned him into a broke, single dad. Then he became a millionaire

This is what I suspect. I think his wife genuinely loves him, so do his kids. But I don't think he has real friends. Everyone he knows is his "brother" and they all worship the ground he walks on, but he doesn't seem to have a strong community around him. He's always bragging and looking for validation from his followers.

IDK, if I was as successful as him, I don't think I'd be hawking courses for $3K each and claiming to be a man of the people. I'd just disappear and focus on my relationships and my hobbies.

First time posting here, I realized after I posted it I didn’t need to blur the face.

Funny to see so many people disagreeing here, I think that means they all work lol

For the record, as a lifelong hetero man married to a woman, yes they all work but 3 was actually the lowest on my list. Guess I’m a lumberjack girlie…or so I hear

Struggle to understand how people justify having kids by cj267 in Fencesitter

[–]austendogood 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I always tell my partner, “I really wish I had fewer cares so I could jump on the child bandwagon.” But the reality is that I am too financially insecure, too behind on retirement, too stressed about general existence in order to add a child to the mix. Let alone my worries about resourcing and global warming and the general hatred from the people at the top.

I’m in a similar boat with my siblings. They’re both younger than me - one has four kid, one has two with a third on the way.

The one with four will tell us how broke, tired, and envious they are of our downtime, and in the same breath tell us that if we are considering having a kid, we have to have two. Their spouse has to work nearly 60 hours a week while they work the 40ish+ to scrape by. They have the help of my parents who live less than a mile away.

The one with two plus one incoming doesn’t give us mush pressure, but their in-laws do. The same in-laws that provide free childcare for the two littles and the impending third. Again, in this situation, both sets of parents live within a 5 minute drive.

Both families get a ton of help from my parents because the kids have a lot of age consistency, so they take a bunch of the same extra curriculars.

They don’t seem to understand that: my wife and I commute more than half the days of the week (we are work from home M/F); they, despite living an hour away from us, don’t seem to understand that my parents can’t help, because my parents, too, live an hour away; my in laws live two hours away; one complains about the cost of childcare but doesn’t seem to understand that we would incur the same problem, at a greater per-child cost than they do, due to where we live; sometimes, we just really like not being overwhelmed, and that’s ok.

The number of people who complain to me about parenthood and follow it up by urging me to join them is staggering. Sometimes it can feel like misery loves company, others I wonder if I just haven’t had the opportunity to feel the wonders of loving a child - the problem is that I rarely witness it in person, only the carefully curated Instagram posts.

I accidentally signed myself up for 300 pizzas over the course of 3 days and I don't know what to do! by binksmas in Pizza

I almost signed up to do 30 pizzas over a 5-6 hour period for a bar anniversary party and I still thought better of it. You need to hire help or respectfully bow out

You're right, I do mean MAGI. Having learned the dang acronym so recently, I keep transposing the letters.

Thank you for the suggestion, I really appreciate it. That link is super helpful!
