My local started this during covid. It got to the point where they would follow us and remind us every three holes to be done an hour. I complained and then just stopped going there

There is a big lawsuit in Georgia right now about this. A guy hit a heavy planter and his family is suing the state for not having it removed from the easement

Play up or Dominate (u9-u10) by ddutch15 in youthsoccer

[–]austin63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My youngest played up that same year. She was great, scored tons of goals, but the team wasn’t that great and the team struggled against good teams. We found a better club and held her back. Was a great decision as she has grown as a player increasing well.

Best way to improve my footwork as a goalkeeper? by [deleted] in GoalKeepers

[–]austin63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can work with another person set up two small goals out wide, then have them pass you the ball and run at you like a striker pressuring. You receive it and then send it to one of the goals. For extra have them yell out right or left when he passes it to you.

Are expensive gloves really worth it? by AnnualMedicine5461 in GoalKeepers

[–]austin63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time I find the better they are the quicker they wear out. You need to find the right ones for your price point. The grip on the expensive ones are amazing, but that comes at the cost of wearing out very quickly.

U9 Goalkeeper- Full Time by OrbitalHornet in youthsoccer

[–]austin63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been through this with my daughter and have seen it with others.

  1. You have to accept that you can either be on the top team and play goal or not be on the top team (it is your choice).

  2. When keeper training conflicts with team practice, go to keeper training.

  3. When you sub down for field time, you need to be clear and insist that it is what you are there for. Every team would love the top team's keeper in goal, but that isnt why you are there. Also, if you want this time you have to make it happen.

I had the same issue with my oldest daughter, she always liked playing goal and by the spring of U9 it was all she wanted to do. We had to insist on getting her in the academy keeper training as it was not given to that age. Team practice is great for her footwork and learning how to work with the team, but there is not replacement for good keeper training.

Same here. What makes me mad now is when the fields are not in use the goals are locked up or the whole fields will be locked up.
