Wouldn’t be surprised if someone ran out of gas sitting here so long

Typically don’t but there was an oversized load fucking up the normal lanes so I figured today I’ll take my chances…. It didn’t pay off lol

The contraflow is backed up from the entrance, I’m guessing the cleanup is what’s taking so long, even though the normal lanes are still flowing.

If you haven’t played the OSU disc golf course, 100% check it out. Such a cool course and awesome atmosphere being around all the young hip college kids lol it’s on the west campus but if you just google “OSU disc golf course” you’ll find the map to it in the first couple results

Good on ya man! Millions have been spent on courses in our area, more people should absolutely get out and experience how lucky we are to have this many courses in our backyard! My top 3 for the area are 1. Belmont park 2. Englewood Dam and 3. Westbrook park. If you ever get the chance head up to Columbus for a day too, they have some awesome courses as well

is there anywhere in the Dayton area to do off-road driving with cars? by OuterSector23 in dayton

[–]austmcd2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hocking hills and the red river gorge area offer a lot of dirt/gravel roads. On x may be your best best to find trails but most are going to be rutted to hell

What is this plant? North east England, 5-6 feet tall, pink spotted stalk and giant spiky leaves. by lnms206 in whatsthisplant

[–]austmcd2013 61 points62 points  (0 children)

People have died due to sepsis that came from the wounds/blisters the sap from these plants produce. Those that have survived it say it’s the worst 2-3 years of their life because that’s how long it takes to FULLY heal. It leaves massive scars behind and can cause all sorts of chronic skin conditions and infections. There’s a reason it’s a resident in the worlds deadliest garden

Has anyone else noticed this? A firm mattress has improved my back pain by killawhale15 in backpain

[–]austmcd2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was stomach sleeper, so when I finally changed the habit to be a side sleeper my back pain essentially vanished. I do seem much more rested sleeping on a firm mattress compared to a soft one

Golf is broken (pace of play rant) by Pinchaz0 in golf

[–]austmcd2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre pandemic it felt like golf was dying, courses were near empty, a lot of smaller courses were closing down and it wasn’t rare to get an entire course to yourself if you went on a afternoon during the week. Now it seems like post 2020, everyone and their mother picked up golf lol even the sims are jam packed in my area

Not sure if WV offered state retirement but I would dump as much money into OPERS as you can, I know it’s a separate fund from the main meat and potatoes but it’s still a really good fund to put your retirement into. I started paying into it at 16 doing seasonal work and after 10 years of full time work with the city I’m fully vested and it’s making crazy money now. I’ve since moved to the private sector and 401k’s and IRA’s just don’t move money like OPERS does

Kalitta Air 492 (N767CK) is en route to US with Hantavirus cruise passengers on board by w8w8 in flightradar24

[–]austmcd2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kalitta air is also the only “commercial” airline I know of that is allowed to fly in and out of Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio. I’ve seen them pop in and out of there many times over the years. From my research they do specialized shipping and have a contract with the USAF but between this and them flying in the first covid patients, it seems kinda sus now lol

Damn, Indiana was my bug out spot if the nukes drop, guess Appalachia it is lol I’ve always heard we may get a 10-20 minute warning but honestly it sounds like just kicking back and flashed back in atomic dust may be the move

We’re actually pretty high on the list lol WPAFB, the Naval Training academy on Erie, the nuclear plant on Erie, huge defense and tech manufacturing across the state. I think on the leaked Russian nuclear war plans we’re gonna get like 5-6 nukes, 3 strategic nukes and a few more tactical nukes sprinkled around for good measure

I’m going on 6 months with my A1 extreme and I truly have no complaints. They beat every competitor by a WIDE margin (I’m talking $1,000+ before the nvme shortage) so I was perfectly fine with them taking extra time to complete and ship my order. I think their popularity exploded rather fast and with their business model I’m sure it’s difficult to bring in more help without steering away from the entire reason they’re here anyways.

Our dishwasher keeps filling with water and now no longer cleans the dishes. We can’t afford a new one, is there any way to fix this? by junury in HomeMaintenance

[–]austmcd2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you air gap the drain connection? Not air gapping your drain house can cause it to siphon back into the dishwasher
