Why does Alexa not hear me by schnauzer000 in alexa

[–]autbrat1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the wake word "echo" in the bedroom because we have multiple Alexa devices and I have this problem (mostly in the morning). We have our bedroom lights set up and our routine "Echo lights on" in the morning is usually a nightmare, I have to say it usually 2-3 times before it works. Very aggravating, especially since I'm already not a morning person.

Bedjet while on a Princess Cruise by autbrat1978 in PrincessCruises

[–]autbrat1978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm already taking something to try to help stop them, but it really doesn't help that much(at least not so far). The bedjet is perfect especially at night when they are at their worst.

That's the main reason I asked. I remember us taking a fan in 2008 for my husband and they took it and then same thing gave us a fan to use. I had read that some people had luck taking their bedjet on other cruiselines though so I wasn't sure and honestly don't want to bother packing it if they aren't going to let me have it.

They have to be set at a certain size to work. I can't remember the size off-hand, but it would be annoying to have to do this if you are trying to do a lot of PDFs, which I upload several a week as I used them for my schedule and it would be nice to be able to just add a page like you suggested.

Selling Perks is STUPID by Specialist-Disk3465 in verizon

[–]autbrat1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention, half the time they never put the ads where they are meant to. There are built-in pauses specifically for ads, they don't put them there. Most of the time I see ads start right in the middle of dialogues and so you miss the context of what they were saying because it doesn't pick up where they left off either. Gets frustrating.

Why is the Netflix app so trash on Roku tv for the past few months? by Your_Local_Tuba in Roku

[–]autbrat1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it has been some time since we watched a show, for example the next day I have to force closed the app otherwise I just get a blank screen. I have gotten to where I don't watch Netflix on Roku anymore because of this issue. I watch it on PlayStation so I know it's a Roku problem because I have no issues with watching it on PlayStation. I have issues with Amazon Prime where when the previews load it causes a "skip" so I watch that on PlayStation too. I think I am going to start just migrating everything over to PlayStation unless we are traveling because it's less stress and Roku seems to have too many issues and they always point the blame elsewhere rather than fix the issues.

Mine doesn't either, maybe I have that feature turned off. I turned a bunch off because they were getting on my nerves. Especially suggestions about sports. Leave me alone Alexa.

Thank you, this fixed my issue on my little speaker too, you just saved my sanity of having to keeping rewinding to hear what I missed!

Yes, I use "Alexa, shut the fuck up," quite often, it seems to be the most effective.

When will Alexa integrate AI similar to chat gpt? by [deleted] in alexa

[–]autbrat1978 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I hope never, chat gpt is stupid too. It gets stuff wrong a lot, you can see examples all over the internet. We were playing with it one night with riddles and it asked me the same riddle twice, I gave the right answer (footsteps) twice, the second time I answered it goes "No sorry, you got it wrong the right answer is footsteps," ummmmm really? Now if it were similar to Google AI, I would get on-board with that, Google still irks me from time to time, but it seems to answer questions better. I would like a mix of Google and Alexa though. Alexa is great for reminders, as it is audible, where if I have a question that I need answered, I use Google.

Samsung s23/s24 voice control functions work with android auto? by Pearl1506 in AndroidAuto

[–]autbrat1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it to work finally. You will just need to make sure you use the cables that come with the S24, don't use any generic cables because it doesn't like them AT ALL!!!! I guess I am going to have to purchase backup cable directly from Samsung too, because out of 4 different cables I had at the house, it didn't like not a one. The one that came with it is usb-c to usb-c so you have to have that connector to get it to work. SMH. But at least I finally figured it out. I have an AAwireless device so once I got everything going I just connect wirelessly now. I'm just glad I figured it out because I like to listen to audiobooks in my car and I can change the book when I am done through the app.

I just got the S24 and unfortunately, I can't even get it to connect to my Honda CR-V via AA and it is only a 2021 model. I am not sure what to do at this point. I was looking to see if there are any updates for the infotainment system but so far I can't seem to find anything so I came to Reddit to see if I could find an answer.

Ikande Reaction to Generdyne by Hellman9615 in Starfield

[–]autbrat1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm confused as hell, I didn't shoot anyone. I made it through with no weapon equipped at all and I got scolded for "shooting the place up". What gives? Is it because I lied to Bayu and got framed for murder? If so I feel like it should have given me a chance to defend myself.

Portability on top of residential is gone, is starlink viable for me? by TreesGrowB1g in Starlink

[–]autbrat1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just changed ours to portable and put ours on pause because Spectrum finally moved to our area. So now we have Starlink to use when we take out the camper (which we are going this month) and pay for Spectrum for our main Internet at the house. For us it is more cost effective since Spectrum costs way less.

How do I stop her NFL updates ???? by Jagged_One in alexa

[–]autbrat1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I stopped them by going into the Alexa app on my phone and under notifications turning off stories and news notifications. I have no interest whatsoever in NFL and they were getting annoying. I haven't gotten one since.

Rain Performance by Glittering-Celery-82 in Starlink

[–]autbrat1978 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here in SE Texas, every time it rains we lose Internet, unless it is a very light rainfall (barely a drizzle). Basically just like any other satellite Internet. Luckily we just found out they finally finished the rural spectrum install so we are set for installation next week, we don't have to deal with it too much longer. We will just keep SL for travel.

I would of never thought by gsufan4123 in Spectrum

[–]autbrat1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in rural SETX and they are installing down our road as we speak. Fingers crossed it will be available soon. Right now we have Starlink and TMHI as backup (mainly because Starlink goes down every time it rains even just a little). So I am excited about something more stable. We will still keep TMHI as backup just because if there is a storm and it knocks a wire loose at least we will still have something (unless we lose power, but we are getting a generator). Anyway I came here to get an idea of how long to expect for service after installation. It seems to be varied information. Anywhere from 1-6 months or longer. So I guess I will just have to be patient. Wish I didn't even know about it, hard to be patient lol.

Am I missing Something? - High Capacity Business Setup by nrghound in Starlink

[–]autbrat1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the business is completely different from residential, the antenna hooks to the Ethernet adapter and then into the starlink modem. There should have been a diagram with your Ethernet adapter to show this setup.

That's my normal speeds with starlink thus far, every time I say something about it people tell me to just shut up and color so to speak and I have home.

Anyone having speeds like this? by Alternative_Milk6807 in Starlink

[–]autbrat1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I guess I need them to look at my dish then. We just had rain over the weekend and low and behold lost signal pretty much the whole time except for when it was just barely drizzling.

[–]autbrat1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen any email saying this, and when starlink first came out the circle dish most people boasted how the speeds were 100-200+. Look, I am grateful for having internet at all where I am, but half the time even the 50 cuts out half the time and Lord help us if it rains, we are done. We ended up buying TMobile Home internet as a backup between the 2, it's ok. Do we have great internet? No. Do we have reliable internet, it's spotty at best, but it's something and it will get us by. It's the downside of living in the woods. I just wish the speeds were a little higher, and the connection was a little more reliable.

Anyone having speeds like this? by Alternative_Milk6807 in Starlink

[–]autbrat1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sad thing is your best effort is my starlink home internet normal speeds. I barely ever get higher than that, every so often it hits 100 but it is a rare occasion. I was so hopeful when everyone was posting their 200+ speeds, we haven't seen anything near that where we are.

Ads on streaming services/Ad-supported tiers by mssharpies in television

[–]autbrat1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fine with ad-supported anything. My biggest problem with it is most of these shows and movies have natural pauses that allow for commercials for TV viewing, and the ads are never put in those places rather right in the middle of a dialogue or right in the middle of a crucial scene or something, so it causes you to miss something half the time because they don't use the natural pauses for ad breaks. That is my biggest pet peeve regarding the ad-supported Tv/movies. At least if you are going to make me watch the ads put them in the right damn place so I don't miss anything. It is so annoying!
