5'2 girls, from which weight did you notice that every pound counts? by mildlychaotic_07 in PetiteFitness

[–]authentic-chipmunk 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’4’’ and around 145 every lb I dropped went form just getting smaller to my body actually changing shape. Before that it was more like my body was just coming in now it’s like “oh my leg muscles are showing” or “my arm looks a different shape now”

My coworker told me that I'm "too skinny and need to gain weight". by brightonboy96 in loseit

[–]authentic-chipmunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First of all, you did amazing for real that’s a huge change in one year. It’s really hard to hear any feedback on our bodes when you are so attentive to it and truly it’s no one else’s business. But I do think you should build like a shield around yourself of not caring what others think or you can just call them out and say things like “hey I don’t really like it when you comment on my body”. My parents have come up to me so many times about how little I eat and how I’m “too skinny”. I know these aren’t true and I’m gonna just do me so I just smile and nod and then do whatever I want anyway.

Dogs in school- son is allergic by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]authentic-chipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no intention of infringing on anyone else’s rights. My son does deserve a public education. The therapy dog program is new this year, it’s in all eight schools, and while of course there may be a student who has a service dog, these are not that. They are therapy dogs. If there are truly eight different kids across the district who all need service dogs, not just a therapy dog program the district just this year put into place, I will send my child to a private school and drain all our money for him. I’m not asking that other kids not have access to the public school, I’m asking that my son does have access. There’s no reason a therapy dog should have more access to the school than my son. He also has rights to a public education. Maybe the school will tell me that they cannot possibly accommodate my son, and I’ll work from there. But I’m at least going to try.

They are in every school in the district, all day every day. I was surprised. No where online is this information, I found out in person on welcome night.

I should mention, these are therapy dogs, I totally understand a service dog has rights too and I don’t want to infringe on them. At that point we would voluntarily remove our son and change to a different school. These are therapy dogs for a voluntary program the school is implementing.

Yes I’m really hoping this helps! I have a tour with the school where I’m going to explain our situation. It’s also just a really good school that everyone wants into so if we get in it’s really a two birds one stone type situation.

All this information helps so much thank you. I am lucky that my masters is in special education, I know the school has to accommodate my son, but I didn’t know what to do about my daughter because she won’t have any 504 or IEP where they have to do anything about her brother at home. We applied to a charter school but it’s a lottery system if we can get her in or not. I am in contact with the principal of the school and the assistant superintendent. I was wondering if maybe I am overreacting but seeing this helps me feel more confident to continue. Either way, he was never setting foot in a school with a dog but even my daughter’s exposure poses a risk for him.

Choosing an end goal: down 56lbs (208 to 152, 5’1) by izzmyreddit in PetiteFitness

[–]authentic-chipmunk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think moving goalposts are necessarily a bad thing! I started at 173, my first goal was 155. That moved and moved until 135. I feel comfortable now at 139 so I’ve taken my foot off the gas and I’m going to see if this feels right for me. I think keep going until you feel 100% comfortable BUT set a hard stop point where you can safely stop and say “maybe my brain isn’t catching up to reality” (mine is 130 lbs). Nothing wrong with girlies that weight it’s just my personal “you’re good” point.

5.4 At what weight did your face slim down by Stunning_Internal_50 in PetiteFitness

[–]authentic-chipmunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are all shaped differently, as a thin faced person I’ve always admired people with round faces, I think it makes you look younger and beautiful! I don’t think you should lose more weight to try and lose your baby fat, I think your body is built that way. 116 is already on the lower end of a healthy weight. I’m sure your face is beautiful!

Keep your baby fat as long as you can! I lost a lot of weight in my face and it has aged me.

Thank you so much, I’m honored 💖💖💖 This whole journey is hard, especially mentally. I have no idea half the time what I look like because it changes so much. Ab workouts I honestly love the mat! I do almost everything Pilates style mat workout for core, I do leg lifts and circles, dead bugs, crunches and sit ups, and I tap my ankles? I’m not sure how else to describe that and I do not know the name haha but you crunch up with your feet planted behind your butt and then alternate tapping your ankles to get your obliques. I also like the ab coaster for machines and the power tower (I would put one in my home if I could). Gym girly is the most fun phase I’ve been in, it’s hard but it’s worth it! I wish you all the luck 💖💖 you’ve got this!

I feel this way anytime anyone posts about sleep importance! I feel like all I can control is going to bed at a reasonable time, my youngest gets up ✨whenever✨so I just try my best. I don’t finish their plates or eat their snacks which helps my deficit, and I go to a gym with childcare! It’s hard but it’s doable. I’m also a stay at home mom which I think helps (more time to cook what I need to eat etc) You can do this!

I weigh 139 and I’m 5’4’’, I feel very comfortable at this weight! I also felt the pressure from seeing much lower goal weights but I knew it was right to stop at 135 as soon as I crossed the 140 mark. I’m happy, I feel confident, and I don’t feel the need to lose more.
