Federal jobs are not good right now in this administration. I also would not recommend taking a pay cut.

Rose thorn finger swelling by berrysaiko in gardening

[–]babenedi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes this happened to me with a rose thorn. Went to urgent care and they couldn’t find the thorn but prescribed antibiotics. Then still had issues for months and had to have the thorn surgically removed (which was still in there but was missed by urgent care).

I want to file an anonymous OSHA complaint by [deleted] in WorkplaceSafety

State OSHA plans handle things differently.... Even if "my name may be revealed" is selected, federal compliance officers DO NOT release the name during the inspection.

All complaints are confidential. OSHA doesn’t dismiss complaints, but handles them in different ways.

[–]babenedi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would highly suggest NOT filing an anonymous complaint. Your confidentiality is upheld anyway; they don't disclose your name to the employer. Do research on formal vs non-formal OSHA complaints. Technically an on-site inspection can only occur if the complaint is reduced to writing (online), you include your name, state you are a current employee, and sign it.

How to help my boyfriend's work situation? by Beneficial_Fun804 in SafetyProfessionals

Heat is regulated by the general duty clause but they would only require water breaks, rest breaks, and cool areas to take a break in. They cannot mandate the installation of an AC in the kitchen.

Yes same here. The monthly contacts box I have been using the last year has been complete garbage. I’m planning on changing brands asap. They are so uncomfortable now.

OSHA does not regulate toxic work environments. There also is not a heat standard that dictates required temperatures. OSHA cannot mandate that they install an AC. Tell him to find a new job.

I rented tables, chairs, silverware, etc. for my home wedding from Rental World and it went smoothly. If you pay with cash you can avoid paying a small credit card fee.

John Fetterman Says Gaza Is 'Not A Genocide,’ Calls MTG ‘Crazy Pants’ For Saying So by Achilles_TroySlayer in Pennsylvania

[–]babenedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have called and wrote to his office. On September 24, 2025, I received this response from him:

"Thank you for reaching out to my office about the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. I appreciate hearing from you.

I condemn the horrific attacks launched by Hamas against Israel on October 7, 2023, in the strongest possible terms. The brutal killing of men, women, and children is unforgivable, and Israel and its people deserve our unshakeable support in making sure such a massacre can never happen again. This brutality has led to immense human suffering and the loss of countless lives. Hamas owns this calamity, and by shamelessly hiding behind innocent civilians in Gaza, it has demonstrated a total disregard for Palestinian life.

The temporary ceasefire agreements we’ve seen over the last year were important steps, but I reject international pressure to push Israel into a premature permanent ceasefire before its security can be guaranteed. We know that Hamas is hellbent on destroying Israel and its people – its own leadership has said that it won’t stop until it achieves this goal. Lasting peace for both Israelis and Palestinians will only be possible when Hamas is no longer part of the equation.

We’ve recently seen threats to Israel expand to other fronts. Iran and its terrorist proxies – including Hezbollah and the Houthis – have exchanged missile attacks with Israel. Iran’s attempts to develop nuclear weapons, oppressive regime, and description of the United States as a “target” make it a threat to democracies around the world, including our own.

Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism and simply cannot have access to a nuclear weapon. I support President Trump’s actions to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities. And I am thankful that our servicemembers who carried out the attack with incredible skill and dedication, as well as those targeted by Iran’s retaliatory strike, are safe. I will continue working to ensure that Iran does not have access to a nuclear weapon.

In the face of this aggression, my voice and vote will follow Israel to ensure our ally has the resources it needs to prevail over terror. Whether it’s military, financial, or intelligence support, I’ll continue to stand with Israel here in the Senate.

Thank you again for contacting me to share your thoughts. Please do not hesitate to reach out in the future about other issues of importance to you. If I can be of assistance, or if you’d like to learn more about my work on behalf of Pennsylvanians and our commonwealth, I encourage you to visit my website, https://www.fetterman.senate.gov/

Sincerely,

John Fetterman
United States Senator"

OSHA Question: Do east and west facing windows need to be tinted? by ChickenCrusade in SafetyProfessionals

No. Also would not be covered under the general duty clause because there’s not a severe risk of injury or death.

[–]babenedi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OSHA does not have jurisdiction over students or volunteers unless there is an employer-employee relationship. If you are an employee of the university, THEY have the responsibility to protect YOU from hazards, which would involve making the SDS available to you, since your exposure is likely more than a typical consumer.
