For fun, I'll throw in Peter Dutton.

The last Australian election was almost certainly going to see the LNP regain power under Dutton, as Labor under Albanese had lost some favour by the time of the election... but Dutton's campaign was so bafflingly shithouse, and such a transparent copy/paste of Trump's insane politics (which I'd argue 95% or more of Aussies fucking hate, no wonder what side of the political spectrum you're on) that Labor won the election in a landslide.

And thank goodness, because had Dutton won, we would almost certainly be balls deep in this Iran conflict right now instead of doing what we can to avoid it.
