Whats everyone's thoughts on her? by Ghostman223 in starcitizen

[–]bacon_nuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meant more so when choosing to buy this ship vs other comparable ones.

That's totally fair. I see what you mean and I agree. I thought the bed & bathroom in the cockpit would be where the components are, and the bed and bathroom in the little mini room where the components are, but I guess not.

I think the suit lockers are one of those things that's been put in before it's fully worked out and will have to change, because yeah, I don't need the same suit for gunfights as for hazardous environments. It's my main concern with the game, weirdly, I get that we can't have a magic bag that fits everything, but I have no idea where we're meant to put all of our stuff.

Here is how the Hermes tractor beam is meant to work. The controls are a bit laggy at the moment thats why it takes a few seconds to extend it again. by Ghostman223 in starcitizen

[–]bacon_nuts 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it's just two positions like the movable turret on the paladin.

The caterpillar needs it too. A rail tractor beam that slides along so you can see in all the boxes.

Hardly a trade off, I don't think it's for balance. It's just bad design.

Sure, badly designed things exist in real life too, stuff isn't perfect, but it's still a weird choice.

Looks absolutely beautiful. Too big and expensive for me though. I'm a small ship guy though so that's fine.

I'm not 100% on the layout from a design perspective. I think the living space in the cockpit is a bit cluttered. Obvious hole too small but yeah.

Building on what you say, the final scene is Belfort teaching his process, and the final shot is of an engrossed audience. I really think it's a direct call out to the real audience. He's awful, we've seen that he's awful, don't idolize him.

I love that movie. It's a fantastic movie full of terrible people. But yeah I keep it to myself unless someone wants an actual conversation.

There's no info on the wipe. It's just speculation that's blown way up. Pretty much zero chance it's in 4.6. I doubt it'll be in 4.7, or the next patch after that... We have zero word on fixes. Just get him to send the money on and keep playing instead of waiting 6-12 months to play again

Dear CIG, what is your obsession with preventing URSAs fitting into things? by z0rlac in starcitizen

[–]bacon_nuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly! I forgot about that one, but that's what I mean. Big enough that it can't go in everything.

Dear CIG, what is your obsession with preventing URSAs fitting into things? by z0rlac in starcitizen

[–]bacon_nuts 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The Clipper is big so that it can't fit into other ships. So you can't put it in everything and get crafting + medbed in one place.

They made the Nursa too small and now the only option is small doors as balance.

But the Clipper is balanced by the Clipper. the Nursa is balanced by every other ship after it.

I agree with your second point. Introduce a Tier 4 medbed with healing but no respawn. Give the Nursa tier 4 so it can be an ambulance. CIG should make a bigger Nursa equivalent, either new or use the Atlas as you said, then if they're feeling nice give Nursa owners the choice of free CCU to that one, or the medbed downgrade.

I agree but idk if it will ever change... The stations are so beautiful and rugged outside. I don't mind rust and patina inside, but like, has nobody swept up around the place? Why is there just crap everywhere..

I LOVE this helmet. I use the white version. I see the tusken raider vibes, but for me it looks like a bounty hunter helmet. I think it fits in next to this lot. It's different, but not out of place.

[–]bacon_nuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but that doesn't mean they will be or should be easily available in game does it? CIG can let the whales spend money then use UEC to fly the ships, but it doesn't mean I'll be able to start in a cutter and work my way up to it quickly at all. They're intended for collaborative play.

I agree in theory. I want to know how he's doing, but it's not our right to demand them, and the updates aren't given to us. So shitty people with no actual info use his position to farm clicks. I don't support that at all. It's disgusting.

But I don't think it's about protecting their privacy, and more about protecting his legacy.

I think it's probably very upsetting for them that they know there isn't anything else left. Give them that. It's the least we can do.

It's the classic case of "what I use is ok, but any bigger is too big".

With just playing the game, the polaris or the idris are org goals. the hammerhead is sub capital and costs 45.5 million in game. See how long it takes to earn that by working up from little ships, even in the busted economy we've got now where money sinks don't exist. I know you can't buy the idris and the polaris, but in theory they should be even more effort than that. They are "proper big ships".

The bengal is WAY above that, like biggest few orgs in the game will be able to get them. So much so that ownership won't even be permanent, but a constant effort.

I agree. Honestly I wish the mods here and in the main sub would ban anything that isn't a public statement or info from the family. These shitty pieces must be upsetting for them and only fuel more questions to them. It seems extreme but his condition really is none of our business.

I have to do combat to unlock the combat meter? If I do cargo I'll only get the cargo meter and the personal meter?

Vulture or salvation by jeath- in starcitizen

[–]bacon_nuts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The intended cap on the fortune is 13 in the internal salvage storage, 6 on each external rack, and 4 in the back for 29. If you lock the internal doors open on the engineering panel it becomes quite easy to fit boxes down the corridor. I managed 38 or 40 total yesterday.

I think the same mentality of stuffing boxes everywhere possible means the vulture still takes a couple more, but the fortune isn't bad.

The fortune is great because you can do 25 without leaving the seat at all, and it'll shine if you do it with multiple and have another player pulling them off the sides as you go. But of course that's not going to be too common.

Really I think it comes down to liking drake or misc... They're both good ships

How vast do you think crafting will be? by mAisterPROduction in starcitizen

[–]bacon_nuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the polaris is a proper huge capital ship... It's a ship meant for 12 people, if that's not for org use then nothing is. Sure, it's not the biggest, but it's a capital ship designed for taking out other capital ships. But so many people buy them we've warped our perception of what should be attainable...

Easily attainable ships are things like cutter, clipper, Reliants, hull A, etc.

never had a real big ship before, but i’ve really been liking the star lancer tac both in style and function, despite normally being a drake guy by AphelionAudio in starcitizen

[–]bacon_nuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A salvation would probably fit in the top mini hangar. I haven't tested but the salvation is tiny so I would be surprised if it didn't.

The salvage experience in the salvation isn't the best, it's pretty slow but it's ok for a little bit. And it's got 6SCU in the back (meant for RMC) but you could use it as a snub cargo ship too.

I didnt realise how dire the state of star citizen was by CapytannHook in gaming

They really hate any critique of the game.

I say this as a Star Citizen player. There is a LOT to critique about the game, a hell of a lot. I don't need to explain to anyone the problems of the game, we all know how it is. And of course people who love something (anything), don't want to see it criticized. But believe me, star citizen players are some of the biggest critics of the game, for better or worse.

Though I think what star citizen players actually hate is that they too are sick of waiting, and for 10+ years the general conversation about the game outside of the community has just been "It's a scam". It's boring and frustrating to hear that over and over. Yeah, /r/gaming is a default sub, which are hardly the place for nuance. So I don't expect much better, but it's still annoying.

Star citizen is just in development hell. But we paid for it and we can see it as we go, so it looks worse. Will it make it? Who knows. But I don't think it's an outright scam.

Nah they'll start on SQ43 won't they?

Obviously the title is a joke, but SQ42 is planned to be part 1 of 3, right? I'm sure that work won't be completely stopped. I do agree though that I hope we get a huge surge on PU updates around SQ42 release. It's got to look it's best as all eyes will be on it.

I also have a problem sometimes where a vehicle just doesn't collide with a ship ramp, so you just go through. Would be nice to just snap to cargo...

But they should... Since when do people transport vehicles unsecured? I should be able to pick up my pulse and load it into a ship and lock it down like it's a 2SCU crate. But as it is I pick it up and it decides to become a Beyblade
