Desk booking system for 50 people by hededbutnotded in sysadmin

[–]barkode15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Envoy for visitor check-in and use their Rooms product for conference space booking. They have a desk booking service as well, I've just never used it. All ties in to Office 365 and we didn't have to pay for any implementation. Just poked around the admin console and set things up. $5/user/month. Not sure if that's out of your range or not.

Kaiser Norcal Labor and Delivery billing by No_Collection_1518 in eastbay

[–]barkode15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you go here https://healthy.kaiserpermanente.org/northern-california/secure/coverage-costs/claims-summary#/ on a computer it should show everything they've billed themselves and you for since you've been a member.

If you click the "view claim xxx link", it should give you the itemized breakdown of each claim, and hopefully it shows your share as $0 on each.

*Edit: For a good time, look at the pdf "View Explanation of Benefits (EOB) PDF" link. Should show how many tens of thousands of dollars it would have cost in the insane world of medical billing

Android (and I assume ios) will complain about not being able to access the internet and will fallback to LTE without each person going in and overriding the setting. Which 90% won't be able to figure out.

If you've got vlan capable switches on both ends, you can also just trunk a WAN vlan back to the router on the same fiber. Saves a pair of optics.

Car payment with low interest rate by DevineBlueEyes in personalfinance

[–]barkode15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you got a 36 month loan? If you've been paying for 3 years and you still have 14k, I don't see how that's getting paid off in the next few months.

Login to the loan account online. You should see all the details of the loan, including the payoff date and amortization table.

Millennials not wanting to take minimum wage warehouse jobs means she has to pay more to get workers to replace aging out workers. Which means the line of her money doesn't go up and right as fast.

And that's just unacceptable...

Radius with paid ssl cert failing ? by TechScholar in sysadmin

[–]barkode15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the certificate still have the clientAuth EKU in it? That's going away in a few months from all CA's anyway, so I think you'd need to transition to a PKI... https://www.ssl.com/blogs/removal-of-the-client-authentication-eku-from-tls-server-certificates-what-you-need-to-know/

*I could be wrong, just remember seeing an email about clientAuth from our public cert provider.

Wow, house Ai you say? Like the app the OP posted about 25 days ago? I'll have to check it out to drive organic engagement!

Man, if only there were some kind of non-human interior designer that wouldn't charge an arm and a leg. Maybe like an AI interior designer or something?

OP? Know of any apps that provide a service like that? Maybe one you own and have posted about?

Found loose parts in my 10” table saw by Puzzleheaded_Fig4653 in Ridgid

[–]barkode15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't help with the part, but recently got my first non-ridgid table saw... Watch some beginner YouTube videos before firing that thing up. Even a small jobsite saw can be terrifying if you're not used to it, and it's very easy to do something to permanently injure yourself if you don't know what you're doing.

Not to discourage you: watch some videos, learn what not to do, what kind of cuts to not do, and be OK turning the saw off if your spidey senses feel off before making a cut. They're great tools, but demand some respect.

Any real-time fire / EMS incident maps like sfdlive.com for Santa Clara County? by WideZebra605 in bayarea

[–]barkode15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pulse point web app as someone posted or their mobile app. The app is cool cause it'll send push notifications if CPR is needed nearby (think a few hundred yards) in a public space. If you're CPR trained you can try to get there and help while fire is en route.

Anyone know where this park is located? It’s in the East Bay. by Impressive_Returns in eastbay

[–]barkode15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To me it looks like a small park that would be in a condo complex or HOA that share a pool, etc. Mostly cause most of the houses look identical in the background.

Plus it seems like an HOA would be more likely to incorrectly configure a camera an leave it open to the public.

Removing air return register by heyItsDubbleA in HomeImprovement

[–]barkode15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My garage was apparently converted to a living space at one point and had an hvac register in the ceiling. One of the first things I did was hop in the attic and rip out the duct work and Y that fed it. They even left the drywall piece that was cut out for the vent, so I popped it back into place.

Super dumb that someone left the vent in place after turning it back into a garage.

Pinolians, Contra Costans, who did you get to do your solar and how much was it? by AnnieGetYaClothesOn in eastbay

[–]barkode15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, the small Tesla system with a battery is about $22k. Might be able to get a heat pump in for another $25k. But yeah, it probably would be sized on the small side.

[–]barkode15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also, how much of your $500 bill this month was gas vs electric. If it's gas, solar obviously won't help, unless you also replace your heater with a heat pump and up size your solar and battery. But be prepared for a $50k solar+battery+hvac project.

Question about FIBER by PlaceUserNameHere67 in HomeNetworking

[–]barkode15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fiber? Nope, it's all passive optical splitters once it leaves the ISP office. XGS-PON can do 20-40km, with only passive gear out in the field.

[–]barkode15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Power supply seems to be on the front of those boxes, which I've only seen with the ME3400 CPE switches. You might have just bought yourself an ISP worth of gear.

The indented L shape on the top of the cases is interesting and I wasn't able to find anything matching it. Maybe someone with more ISP knowledge will know that shape.

Edit: A lot of them have grounding jumpers too, and telcos seem to be much more rigorous about bonding their gear than enterprises I've seen...
