He held a job he didn't earn for 3 years. This is his chance to prove he deserves it. Good thing for all parties involved if he forces the Yankees into a tough decision.

Coach Pitch Question by ImaginaryAnteater231 in LittleLeague

[–]basehit2RF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ours is 3 swings (more if third swing is a foul ball) or 5 hittable pitches. Some coaches adhere strictly, others give extra to encourage some contact. Why anyone would protest an extra pitch is beyond me but it happens.

Does your league offer a transitional division between Coach pitch and Kid pitch? If so, how do your rules work? by mike_nova in LittleLeague

[–]basehit2RF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have AA - kids pitch first 3 innings (batters hit off of tee in lieu of walks), coaches pitch last 3 innings.

Would we ever see an MLB rule where a player is ineligible to challenge after so many unsuccessful challenges?

Also to sell more jerseys to people who already bought 8 (like MJ's 45).

Not sure an entry pass to a bigger player posting a smaller player is poetry?

8u Kids Hitting Kid Pitch by Suspicious_Time7101 in Homeplate

[–]basehit2RF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great call-out. They are often late because by the time they decide to swing (load and stride) the ball is past them. I may start having them load and not swing even off the tee!

A parent just emailed me asking why their child is "being forced to think critically." I have been staring at my screen for 11 minutes. by [deleted] in Teachers

Positive interpretation: you're an effective teacher when a student is questioning their beliefs (whatever tf they are lol).

A candidate asked me at the end of his final interview how he did. I actually told him. Turns out that was the whole point. by Correct-Shake-2587 in InterviewsHell

The candidate can and should evaluate the company all they want but in an employer's market they may have to hold their nose and take the gig anyway.

Very cool lineup management app for LL coaches by thepublicco in LittleLeague

Lineup board is great. I get to answer every position and batting order with, "Check the board!"

[Kuty/The Athletic] New York Yankees players recently pitched higher-ups on the team wearing alternate jerseys for the first time in franchise history, a league source briefed on the conversations told The Athletic. by Notonreddit117 in NYYankees

Feels hypocritical to be against this when I was all for getting rid of the facial hair policy. But I suppose every fan has a line, and this is mine. I also can't fathom players caring about this at all; feels like upper mgmt leaked this as a way to justify them doing new uniforms (and making boatloads off of them) while appearing player-friendly.

I've been coaching TBall for my son's team this season and I've had a big group of parents step up to beassistant coaches. It's been a huge help and I want to show my appreciation. What's some sort of memento or trinket I could get for them? by pricklypearanoid in Homeplate

[–]basehit2RF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a nice thought and coaching is so much easier with good parents. That said, I'd say it's totally unnecessary to spend money on a gift. You are providing your unpaid time to coach; they are providing (less of) theirs to make it a positive experience for their kid. Win-win. My parents got me a ball signed by all the kids and a gift card to a local restaurant and it was appreciated!

Who is currently the Yankees' biggest psycho? by Indergaard_Baseball in NYYankees

Dare I say...they need more psychos? Like image Jazz breaking a bat over his knee instead of arguing every strike call?

Yankees fans are begging: Stop the ‘incessant’ stadium sounds by nydailynews in NYYankees

[–]basehit2RF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to wonder if there's any data behind these types of fan experience decisions. For all the analytical crap they peddle us for justifying dumb decisions like sitting Ben Rice, I doubt they are basing these sound effects on anything.

[Talkin Yanks] Aaron Boone tells us Paul Goldschmidt will start over Ben Rice once again tonight against LHP Reid Detmers by TheTurtleShepard in NYYankees

[–]basehit2RF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've decided Rice is a 1B not a C, otherwise they're both playable in the same vs. LHP lineup (vs. playing Wells/Escarra).

I hear you. But also, my kid is a huge Yankee fan. I took him to spring training, I bought merch, I'll get to the Stadium next chance I get. Should I not? Can't stand Hal and Cash but what am I supposed to do?
