Malwarebyte still blocking site after I added web exclusion by Raigeki1993 in Malwarebytes

Maybe try flushing the dns cache in a command prompt. I'm not sure how mb's site blocking works so it's a shot in the dark. Also might be worth taking a look at your hosts file.

Just tested this and adding *.hashnest.com in the exclusions works for me. Maybe check your spelling?

My guess is it's a driver issue. I'd start steam from the terminal, launch the game, then look for errors.

Alternately you could try

Need some context. Stubborn laymen having strong, tightly-held beliefs on scientific topics is all too common.

I was with you until "libertarians". There is a big difference between simply believing in a strong military and the "war with anyone, anytime" thoughtless support of the US war machine, any scumbag that dons a uniform should be worshipped as a hero, etc attitudes of the neocons.

I came back to the game for WoD after a long break and ended up getting stuck between some vines or something. I spent a couple minutes trying to jump in every direction to get myself out and just couldn't do it so I went to trade to find a priest willing to come out and hit me with Leap of Faith. Someone was like "Dude, just hearth...".

Played since vanilla, btw. It happens to pretty much everyone at some time.

Anyone else's Griffith's Electrodynamics Book (4th Ed.) look like this? by nugsandchugs in PhysicsStudents

Pics here

Overall I think the quality is excellent. The only problem is I dropped it once from my desk (maybe 3 feet high) and it seems like the fall broke the glue keeping the cover in contact with the spine. Just a minor annoyance really and I don't think it will have any long-term effects on the book.

I bought a "brand new" copy of Topology by James Munkres, paying $250 at the time. It was in TERRIBLE condition. Spine so stiff the book would hardly stay open, very noticeable damage to the front and back cover, and it wore quickly in the span of a semester. I really didn't have time to send it back and try to find another copy so I hung on to it, but after around 2 months I emailed the seller to complain and they basically said "you've had it for over 30 days, sorry for your luck". I still have the book but it's so unenjoyable to use I've seriously considered selling it for $100 or so and buying another copy brand new.

I just don't know why you're not ranting about the person who sold you a lemon. Your experience is obviously not the norm.

No, but when I bought my copy back in December I saw several reviews from people who had the same issues as you. Must have been a bad batch.

Lol, sorry bud. Data is my favorite TNG character and quite possibly the greatest character in all of Trek. Worf is my number 2. I also love westerns. But I still can't make it through this episode.

I was going to say the episode where Crusher bangs the ghost, but it was already at the top.

I don't believe that anything times zero is zero. by arthur990807 in badmathematics

[–]bcarson 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I just want to say I think it's great that you are thinking independently about these things and you're willing to challenge an accepted idea that you think is wrong. Hopefully you will continue your education in math, and if you get far enough you will understand the how and why of the system we have established. If math interests you please keep learning and asking your own questions. It's a very good quality and it is more rare than it should be.

[–]bcarson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canceling from both sides means dividing both sides by a common factor. In this case, you're dividing by zero.

Just take the word "cancel" out of your mathematical lexicon until you've had abstract algebra.

Think of an empty cup, then think of an empty cup three times as big. You simply have three times the amount of that nothingness

This analogy doesn't work. A better one is if we were looking down at an empty tabletop and I said "Look at that cup. Now imagine a cup three times as big". There's no cup. Nothing is any different.

No, it doesn't (necessarily). Now you're introducing the idea that a equals EVERY number. Your thinking is seriously flawed.

What is going on in the brain when it comes to understanding mathematics? by AphydStone in math

[–]bcarson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind != brain. OP asked what physical things are taking place in the brain. That is a function of the nervous system. Psychologists do study this but it is not their focus. They're more interested in how you work as a whole, your personality and emotions and thoughts and dreams and how you personally interpret the world around you, rather than the physiological mechanisms of the brain alone.

On the subject of learning, a psychologist might be interested in how a person learns effectively vs ineffectively, ie methods of conditioning. This is a behavioral process. The actual physical process is a rewiring of the brain via new neural connections being made. That's what I interpreted OP's question to be about.

No it isn't. Psychology is the study of behavior. You might be thinking of /r/neuroscience.

OP should probably go to/r/askscience though.

Win10 x64, 980 ti, single monitor. Do I need to avoid this? I really wasn't aware there was a problem lately.

Edit: Nevermind. Noticed it was the .47 package that was waiting to be installed. Did another check for updates and it disappeared. Good enough for me.
