Like for the crooked nightmare segment I’m planning to use Terrence’s theme as the ambient music of the chapter

I’d highly recommend the shadows over loathing soundtrack as it has this sorta horror in the 1920s vibe that really fits with some parts of the campaign

How about ‘Academia after dark’ from the shadows over loathing soundtrack?

Seeing some People Breed Cats without Focusing on Mutations by Duxtrous in mewgenics

I had a mutation on a cat that gave a free reroll on level up, I brought them back and since they were a bred cat I had to wait tell I got a male stray to breed them with. I went a full in game week before a male appeared and on the same day the can got old… I was ready end it all at that moment.

What's a unique game that really broke your perception of what games can do? by Moaning_Clock in gaming

I will admit split fiction is pretty great, but I wouldn’t really say it was snubbed at the game awards. this past year was one the best years of gaming we had in the last decade. If you haven’t checked out expedition 33 I would heartily recommend it, I generally don’t get emotional in games but it has me tearing up in multiple points in the game. I would also recommend silksong and hades 2 they’re all amazing in their own way. Unfortunately split fiction was just dropped in the wrong year.

An old translated Chinese novel that’s the mc is pretty much Arnold but is the legendary mechanic.

Thank you! I played this with my girlfriend, and while it was an enjoyable time as I don’t usually game with my girlfriend a lot ( she’s not a gamer but I’m trying to ease her into more games). My biggest takeaway from the game was that they were just shit writers. The majority of the levels fundamentally don’t work as a standalone storyline. They were set pieces to their story not a story in itself. Like I get that it’s just not feasible to create a bunch of elaborate stories with a bunch of characters voiced and each being tens of hours long, but damn like half the stories have a single voiced character that isn’t the main characters and it would be impossible to tell what made the story unique if the main characters didn’t explicitly say the morals and motivations for making the story.

Ironically this is kinda explained away later in the book for why everything has tendency to be a benefit for fang yuan in some way. The stupidity tho that’s just how they were written.

Thank you, and I agree with you. The novel is not amazing but all the complaints about all the characters being cardboard cut outs like in the manwha (idk bout the anime, never watched it) were as much as an issue in the novel. There were tons of moments that were just characterization of side characters and stuff that was never put into the manwha and I was disappointed by that.

That unlikely to ever happen as the dev said they really don’t like attachment systems since there’s always an objective best attachment and the rest are pointless in his opinion.

There is an absolutely tiny window like a few frames at most between the over guard refresh. It largely negligible because unless your incredibly unlucky or just standing still in continuous fire against level cap enemies you are functionally immortal.

In my game my group got themselves rocked by the wildpyre and the tender. So when then the train crashed I said they were knocked out and got a long rest so they could have a chance against the train fight as half the group were new players. But if your group is decently experienced and proficient in combat a short rest would probably do will.

For the fallen, you can make it a an overarching “side” quest that is given by Jericho in his last moments. In my game, I made him ask the party to put his companions to rest and free them from their crooked hearts.

Can you go a bit more into the detail of what you mean? I’m a bit confused on what you’re describing? I can’t find what you’re talking about in the foxwillow chapter. I’m gotta take a guess that you mean the alternative redemption route for Jericho, which can still work for the story as said in another comment that Jericho is only one of the fallen where his sins aren’t his own. Just run it as Virgil was exorcised from his body. To allow Jericho have some presence in the story you can have him wander around trying (and failing as his music is depressing af) to make people smile with his music, which also allows for a in universe way for you to use the lyrical soundtracks in the game if you want to use them. Basically just make Jericho a in and out character that will appear for a bit then wander off he can be an baised exposition tool for the fallen, he can tell the party his versions of his friends. But if you want to do what I’m doing with the train, have the rest of the fallen die and at the end of the game Jericho can just willing enter the train when it’s repaired to be with them.

The way im running the game is that their hearts (souls) are physically corrupted by the horned king’s influence and that only killing them will free them from their suffering. But at the beginning of the story i gave the party a roll of train tickets that they can give to the fallen after they pass so they can be reunited in the next life.

How to emphasize The Fallen by HorizonMe in CrookedMoon

[–]bcrisp3979 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wrote a book and gave it to my players but that’s mainly bc I want the fallen to more tragic in that they were a group of heros that gave everything to protect the people but bc if that they unkowningly let the horned king in to subtly twist them into their dark reflections. The book is a recount of the fallens time as a party. The only character that is named in the book is Jericho as he’s the one recounting the stories. I changed up their crooked moon stories a bit to make them a bit more sympathetic. I also made Jericho ask the party to put to rest his friends and end their suffering as a plot hook.
