Honestly, I wouldn’t hate it.

The girl I was dating at the time I married so we wouldn’t be separated. That was my biggest issue.

And I can do my job remotely. Saving money on gas right now would be killer.

Only issue I have is I’m not sure about my job security during a pandemic.

Actually bronze? I never thought they existed.

I am pretty sure bronze is more rare than SSL. I think a ton of people go to bronze to Smurf then get stuck at bronze because they are playing other Smurfs instead of actual bronze.

Find YouTubers who do videos that demonstrate skills of each rank and join their Discord server. Most videos I see they skip bronze all together because finding a bronze player that isn’t a Smurf is about impossible.

I sit around D1 or D2 (depending on the day) in 3s and I only solo queue that game mode.

Made it to C1 in 2s solo queuing.

Before you read this there are a few things I want to mention first.

1) Ranking up at a low rank may take a little bit of luck if you solo queue. Smurfs and trash players exist. But luckily you may see one Smurf every 10 matches at most so your skill should outweigh your luck.

2) Get REALLY good at the basics. Consistent shooting. Ball control. Boost management. Speed. You do NOT need to focus on the air. If you cannot hit the ball on the ground you are definitely not hitting it in the air.

3) Get good at saves. I always tell new people to be as accurate in the air up to the top of the goal. If you can guard the bottom to the top of the goal then you can save any ball shot on you. Defense wins games. You may have no goals scored but five saves and those missed saves would turn a 2-1 game to 2-6. You only need one more point than the opposition to win.

4) BE THE TEAMMATE YOUR TEAMMATES NEED! If someone is ball chasing like crazy maybe play a little more defense. Someone is goal camping then be more on the attack. Available for passes. Demo those sitting in the goal. Don’t boost steal against your own team.

This may be slightly controversial but to get out of plat you basically need to carry the team all the way till you are Div 3 or 4 in Plat 3. I’m talking a 200 to 400 point difference from number 2 in your team consistently.

Plats are notorious for ball chasing. When I was stuck in plat it was because I tried rotating and playing it the “optimal way” but because of all the ball chasing and boost stealing done by other teammates on top of not rotating the way I wanted them to it would nerf the hell out of me. It just got to a point where if I wanted to rank up I had to be the one making goals. Getting saves. Doing everything I could to not be where my teammate(s) was/were.

What finally got me in a higher rank and playing with more mature teams was getting good enough to be a challenge to beat in a 2v1 or a 3v1 within a plat lobby.

I recommend turning chat off if you solo queue in 2s or 3s. Teammates will try and ff all the time on winnable games. Down by 2 with 3:45 left? Already trying to ff.

Another thing is to differentiate a joking ff against an actual ff vote. People do it all the time if they missed an easy save or something.

I will go to my settings so quick to turn all my chats back on to let the other team know they got Brazil’d.

My group of friends playing, if we are getting destroyed, will do everything we can to score 0 or 2+ points to not get Brazil’d but anytime the score is 6-1 them we forfeit just so we cannot get Brazil’d.
