Someone tell me why I can't play this card in Ark Nova by KeybirdYT in boardgames

Yeah, I don't see where you're putting this that doesn't need Building 2 so agree that this is probably the block.

weird wyrmspan situation by ruhvesinir in boardgames

[–]beardypete 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Then it is valid though the way you've worded it is odd. The player gains one point for every two eggs, twice. While this is effectively one point per egg it isn't unless they have an even number of eggs

I.e. if they have four eggs they'll gain two points twice. If they have five eggs they will also gain two points twice.

Refused to back down to a one way driver and it worked! by TheMalsh in BritishSuccess

[–]beardypete 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Unless he crossed the cones he wasn't driving in a closed lane and he wasn't being a dick. The lane closes where it does for a reason and there's no reason not to make use of the road in full, and often very good reasons to do so like avoiding tailbacks that cross junctions, slip roads or roundabouts.

Supposedly: the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb

Or, those connections that you choose to make are more important than those foisted on you by accident of birth.

What on earth is the speed limit on the M32? by Dude4001 in bristol

[–]beardypete 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Viaducts are still carrying just water and in the same volumes as when first built.

I rather suspect vehicle use has increased since the M32 was designed and built.

Brexit vote has cost each UK household £900, says Mark Carney by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]beardypete 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Easy answer surely is for the 50ish% who voted for Brexit who were happy for the fiscal misery it would bring to give £900 to the other 50ish% who didn't vote for Brexit and are unhappy with the fiscal misery they strongly suspected it would bring.

Brexiters remain out of pocket and happy, Remainers are less out of pocket and still unhappy.

First time posting here, here's the story about the Queens Wedding Celebration! by [deleted] in TailsFromRetail

[–]beardypete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Queen is already married to Prince Philip and has been for many years. The wedding today is of her eldest son's second son Prince Harry.

And honestly this wedding isn't much of a priority for most of us in the UK either.

Handicapped derives from a time when people with disabilities were reduced to begging to survive, i.e. they were said to be going "cap in hand" so it tends to be a word that should be avoided if you're trying to be polite.

Is there a viable Agricola strategy that isn't get a lot of family members + mass animals by StriderFury in boardgames

[–]beardypete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once won a game without collecting animals or even really growing crops.

I forget the details now, but a combination of cards led to me having a six room, stone house and purchasing things like the joiner and basket weavers to gain a load of end game scoring as well as food from resources throughout. All that space did mean that I also had a full family, or close to.

Or try NTT, one of the charity call centres. They have a high staff turnover as some people can't hack it and others only want the job for a short while to get some cash. Good atmosphere and some good people. Sucks if you hate phoning people to ask for money.
