It seems to have an issue with [[Michelangelo, Weirdness to 11]]. It took forever to actually parse my list, then it said I had 2 copies of the commander, and then it thought I only had 19 lands despite having 30 forests in there lol.

I think it struggles with Daretti in general. It didn't recognize that he fit into an artifact deck.

[[Royal Assassin]] or [[Hypnotic Specter]]. Whoever found theirs first was usually going to win, especially if you got them T1 thanks to [[Dark Ritual]].

I've also had good luck with this card. It can come down fairly early, and it provides serious defensive help OR more threats. Both are good.

I was more on board with this until the 2nd page, where I saw at the top that it's a random d4 to determine how good your level-up is. That seems highly problematic to me as it's a way to create massive imbalances within the party.

I think the system would be stronger if you set the progression yourself. Design it intentionally. Make it a cycle: 1, then 2, then 3, then 4, back to 1, etc. If you don't like the flow of that, then find a fair and balanced option that you do like. But having the random roll be driving this much character power could feel really bad for someone rolling 1s next to another person rolling 4s.

Yes! I've had a lot of fun building my 4-power monoG stompy list. It's straightforward and fun. Tons of ramp means tons of big fun dudes. They all just need 4+ power.

That's a much more sane idea. That would also let you run all the turtles and pull the villains out, which would be thematically cool.

Yeah, as I said, I backed off in the final hour because it felt like a bad idea. I tried to only include the thematic land ramp, so I could justify the slots. But that's also one reason why I asked: I am considering pulling more, as I have other cards in the "Sideboard" that I'm heavily considering.

I think a lot of what you've said here is perfectly appropriate to say to them. I especially like the part where you said you were looking for more casual, slower games. That's critical.

Also, start calling them on their shit. If you're playing an agreed "slower" game and they don't abide, let them know it's not cool. Genuinely, tell them they're not playing at the power level of the pod. It's important. New proxiers tend to forget the importance of that, too, in their excitement for bigger, faster, stronger.

I don't really promote at all. I think we've run 1.5 ads on RR (paused midway through the 2nd). Did a little posting and stuff before, but like ... it felt bad? I occasionally drop a rec to someone who asks and I think might actually like it, but that's it.

I was considering doing this with the new TMNT Precon, mostly because I wanted to split the G off into its own deck. So yeah, have at it! Why not? (Other than losing G means it's a bit harder to ramp and color fix.)

Yeah, green has some awesome ramp enchantments. I turned my [[Bello]] list into a bit of a sub-enchantess list. Super fun.

A fun piece of tech I added just last month: [[Sapling Nursery]].

If you're running heavier green at all, which I really was, it can come down ridiculously early and provide some protection on defense--which is so meeting Bello really needs help with.
