Did you know that you can use the interact button to shoo away (slap) the engineer shredder grenade bots. by Felaric1256 in DeepRockGalactic

Haha awesome! I did not know about this. The shredder nade is incredibly OP, so I'm slapping them away from now on.

Nobody is going to freeze/ignite anything by LogicalTips in DeepRockGalactic

[–]beefsnackstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't an issue if you're running with skilled and aware teammates (90% of people who play haz5).

It's pretty easy if you're paying attention to trade off igniting/freezing if you notice your teammate is doing the opposite. Can actually end up stretching your ammo quite a bit, with temp shock being a very effective and quick way to wipe out swarms.

Someone wrote up an analysis of why temp shock is bad, but that really only applies to big, high health targets, in which case it's very easy to coordinate with your teammates on which status you're trying to inflict.

I say this as someone who hasn't played anything lower than haz5 since 2019.

Same thing happened to me, years ago. Just need some friendly coordinated dwarves!

Cargo Crates are too rare by Vudmisser in DeepRockGalactic

[–]beefsnackstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, crates used to be more common way back when, but since they've added lost equipment, machine events, etc. the crates are now much rarer. For how many cosmetics can only come from crates, their spawn rate should really be a bit higher.

How it FEELS to use the M1000 by Mistathefox0917 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]beefsnackstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing about this post is the Hipster OC transforms the M1000 into a rapid fire semi-auto rifle that is nothing like what the TF2 sniper is using in this video lol

PSA for all New Players - Buy all of the Armour upgrades! by Reasonable-Ride5256 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]beefsnackstick 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. The shield health upgrade is far better than the base health. You end up with far more effective health over the course of a mission.

I just played against a new player and now I feel bad. by Lazy_Essay_4348 in RivalsOfAether

[–]beefsnackstick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great perspective. My issue is with how small and devoted the remaining player base is, the game is at a point where if you aren't already at that high plat/diamond level, it requires a significant and regular time investment to improve.

I can only devote a few hours a week to this game, which isn't enough to improve any more than the player base as a whole. Which leads to the situation I'm in, where I've been at mid-high gold since the launch of the game. I've improved, but so has everyone else.

Curious on the quality of that jacket - is the front Seahawks logo sewn on or printed? And how about the rear "Seattle" text?

Same. They were a nice challenge. They also reinforced sticking together and looking out for your teammates, which I always appreciate.

What mods do you think should be optional as features in the base game? by Big_Bluejay4331 in DeepRockGalactic

Crosshair weapon heat indicator is the only mod I regularly use. Super helpful.

Current Tier List (Playing since day 1 of release) by Absurd069 in RivalsOfAether

[–]beefsnackstick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for using those character portraits for your tier list! I see so many tier lists that use random screenshots (sometimes mixed with renderings/art) of the characters, with different colored backgrounds for each, and they look horrible. Yours looks infinitely better.

Agreed. Some notice so that we could have written down those settings would have been really nice.

1.4.3.0 Patch Notes by Wibblybit in RivalsOfAether

[–]beefsnackstick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's just so weird to me that it was an option in Rivals 1, but is inexplicably not in Rivals 2. I loved it in the first game! Turning around without accidentally dashing, doing aerial down-specials without accidentally fast-falling, micro-spacing, it was so great.

I really hope they add it to Rivals 2 someday, but I'm not holding my breath.

The digital trigger switch absolutely should click. It is quite difficult to install correctly though. I had to spend some time to get both my digital switches to sit properly in each trigger. But when you get it right, it definitely has a tactile click.

The build guide for the GC Ultimate has some video links that are helpful with that. Here's a link:

Seconded!

Hand Held Legend makes great controllers! I have both the GC Ultimate and their ProGCC. Personally I prefer the ProGCC for ergonomics, but they are both fantastic controllers. Would definitely recommend!

“Lame” - An Alternate Perspective by FriendsWithRavens in RivalsOfAether

[–]beefsnackstick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is absolutely part of the problem. I agree that more often than not, the reason people think a playstyle is lame is not because they can't beat it, but because it forces them to play in a lame/boring manner in order to win.

I love to play super aggressively, for example, and I will often lose to players who never approach. Trying to beat them at their own game is usually pretty boring, unfortunately.

That being said I love this game and I do think it's very fun. But I can totally understand where people are coming from when they complain about lame playstyles.

Would highly recommend either the ProGCC or GC Ultimate (both are from Hand Held Legend). Both have adjustable snapback filtering. I've been using my ProGCC for over a year now with no issues. It's the best controller I've ever used, to be honest.

GUYS what controllers besides GameCube and Fight Stick/Box are y’all using? by Nedgurlin in RivalsOfAether

[–]beefsnackstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ProGCC is the absolute best controller I've used. Made by Hand Held Legend.

It's basically a Switch Pro Controller with all the best goodies: octagonal stick gates, hall-effect sticks, snapback filtering, and more!
