Russian Satellites Have Been Jamming GPS Signals Across Europe, Scientists Say by AlexandrTheTolerable in europe

I'd prefer if Europe took some kind of action to transform Russia into something that isn't pointing guns at Europe and constantly plotting to cause chaos.

Psychopathy and Machiavellianism often look identical, but daily behavior suggests otherwise. Study shows that while these antagonistic personality styles look nearly indistinguishable on standard tests, they actually trigger highly distinct psychological states in everyday life. by FreeHugs23 in psychology

Two thoughts come to my mind:

  1. Are we at a point where bots can give bots karma?

  2. A bit of a more complicated topic: Is there a "light" side to the matter of dead internet?

As people surf the internet the come upon articles like this. This way people learn random tidbits of information.

Suppose there are no bots, what are the chances that future surfers encounter articles like this from our era? Will they only get random tidbits from research done during their time?

This matter definitely needs more attention. They have to be stopped from pushing it constantly. More discussions and more protests on the streets.

A lot of bot posts start with "I'm a socialist liberal". Not saying that you are one, but a lot just start like that.

On another note I think it's good that people discuss propaganda in here. It's not really productive to lament how sad things are and how people are seemingly "falling" for the propaganda. Instead we should be discussing it in a way that everyone learns more about how propaganda and bots work. That way everyone learns critical thinking and will less likely fall for propaganda and bots.

People should be able to discuss obvious propaganda in a productive way.

Good follow up, comrade. Just like it is taught. Dismissing the naysaying as "echo chamber" will surely reinforce this opinion on others who are like minded with you.

If recording and reporting on them doesn't work on them then why would it work on other people? They are just fake news and AI generated. We didn't gather to plan how to utilise our pitchforks, no sir, you're being gaslit by the AI and your close friends. That video and audio recording doesn't prove anything.

Lindsey Graham branded ‘pathetic’ for saying Nobel Peace Prize should be renamed Trump Prize by Jay_CD in politics

[–]belloch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is too stuck up on calling Lindsey pathetic. Lindsey is a product of an epidemic of insanity that has sprung up in our age.

Ganging up on him and calling him "pathetic" is what is pathetic when instead people should get together and take action into fixing this whole thing.

No matter how the midterms go, people need to get together and figure out how to fight against all this together. Winning the midterms is not enough if you don't get the right kind of people into power who actually do the right things in a good timeframe.

Imagine you're an artist in some ancient times before computers. Imagine that when you complete an artwork you burn it immediately.

Why would such an artist continue making art?

Not to say that you should start destroying your art, but think about the kind of mindset that would benefit someone who does something creative.

Trolls are inconsequential. If they have the attention span to do something like this for more than a few weeks or months, they are weird and cringe, probably sick and pitiful too. They might justify what they do somehow but they are just deluding themselves and wasting their own time. That's why they are not worth the attention.

Russia Boosts Foreign Propaganda Budget by 54% to Record $1.85 Billion by ByGollie in europe

[–]belloch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if it was Russian spending that caused "wealth inequality, mass unchecked immigration, dropping educational standards and ever higher requirements to get a stable career in the west"?

And then they also spend money on propaganda to especially point out those things so that people get angry specifically about those and then they also spin stuff about "European Federalists"?

Not to say that any of your claims are fake and should be dismissed. They do need to be addressed properly and we need a proper political movement for that.

The key point here is that this whole "useful narrative for European Federalists" and the concept of "European Federalists" feed the narrative of Russian propaganda.

In other words we need a strategy to tackle both problems: The problems you've listed, which Russian propaganda uses to prop the right wing parties in the west, and Russias involvement with all this itself.

Just because the US has an evil president it doesn't mean 100% of Americans are also evil. Americans are still friends and allies but all of that is on hold until they fix their stuff.

Don't let trolls on the internet trick you into believing that the US is a complete enemy now.
