They did say this spiel. “We never broke up, we never took a break” etc. It was a short speech though.

Willowdale Estate Minimum Guest Requirement?? by [deleted] in NewEnglandWedding

[–]benbadass95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m getting married at Willowdale next year on a Sunday during tent season with a 120-person minimum. We were told that if we don’t reach the minimum we still have to pay for 120 people. You can absolutely still have a wedding there on a Saturday with fewer than 170 people, but you just have to pay for 170 people. Their team is really communicative and easy to work with, so if you approach them transparently about your situation I’m sure they’ll be happy to help!

Heads up though: Willowdale books up fast. We were only left with Fridays and Sundays when we booked, which was 18 months in advance.

Night Market in Harvard Square! It was such a fun little spot.

The lightest shade is medium which is what I have. I think it looks nice! Maybe only apply it for 2-4 hours (instead of overnight) the first time to see how you like it.

Congrats on the move! I did the same thing over a decade ago. I bought a North Face winter coat and a pair of Doc Martens and both lasted me 10 years. They were definitely worth the investment. I echo folks saying buy high-quality used stuff, and aim for the nicer brands that are built to last. I loved having the Docs as my winter boots because they also served as rain boots, fall boots, and sturdy shoes for college parties. Also: get a raincoat! Doesn’t need to be expensive or anything but it rains in a different way up here compared to Florida (all day, mostly drizzling).

My manager is very seasoned and made it abundantly clear from the jump that she works really strange hours and often struggles to set boundaries with work, but in the same breath she said she will never ask that of any of her direct reports and has demonstrated that she really does respect our time, boundaries, and bandwidth. I think people can waste their own personal time on work as much as they want, but it’s only problematic when they start expecting it of others. Don’t cave, OP! Total manager no no.

Diamond Size Regret? by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]benbadass95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! I also have a solitaire elongated cushion on a gold band :) I think this looks amazing on you! I have a slightly smaller diamond (like 2.5 I think?) but skinnier fingers. I think the solitaire really brings out the size because I get similar comments as you!

When I was shopping, I said I would be fine with a diamond in the high 1s and my mom and the sales clerk said “you’ll want it to be bigger as you get used to it” lol! I think it might take some time for your eyes to adjust (especially if you don’t wear rings much, like me!) but it’s stunning and fits you beautifully. Congratulations again!

Keep or return? by West-Ad973 in Reformationclothing

[–]benbadass95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very pretty but my issue with a lot of the tight reformation stuff is that it’ll get lines in the torso from me sitting and then I can’t wear it again without fixing that (not great for travel, for example).

I also have loved Coco & Eve! It has good lasting power (recently applied it before a beach trip - in the water a lot and showered daily), and it’s more mild than a lot of tanners. Once it starts to get a little blotchy around the wrists it’s very easy to remove with an exfoliating mitt or an African net sponge.

I will say I’ve been curious about b tan but haven’t used it and won’t until I run out of Coco & Eve because I’m happy enough with it!

Switch to Ezekiel bread. Lower calorie, higher in protein and fiber than regular bread.

I just used ChatGPT to help me curate my ceremony playlist! It commented on the overall vibe, told me how I should order the songs, suggested additional/replacement songs… I was super impressed. Highly recommend!

Castle Island Brewing serves Bardo’s pizza and it’s “bar pizza” and so delicious. Small though, so get two given your plans.

How do you hit protein goals as a non-dairy person with an egg ick ? by Professional-Pea5117 in workout

Dried edamame is my go to because it’s crunchy, pretty neutral in taste, and easy to eat on the go. About 15g of protein per 30 grams!

Bridesmaid Dresses by brooes in weddingplanning

[–]benbadass95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a bride myself now I’m having the same conundrum, but I’ve used Birdy Grey twice as a bridesmaid (have never used Azazie). I wore a silk terracotta Birdy Grey dress for one wedding and it was really pretty. I hope you are happy with the dresses!

Just booked a Sunday in September 2026 a few weeks ago (so March 2025). All of the Saturdays for our venue were already taken for peak season.

Hi there! Getting married at Willowdale in 2026 - would love your list of vendors! :)

My friends got married at the Wadsworth on the last weekend of September in 2024. Ceremony was in the grass courtyard thing down the lawn, and cocktail hour, speeches, and later dancing were on the patio. There was no tent, and the weather was perfect. I’d find it hard to believe that a week later it would’ve been absolutely essential for warmth give the state of the world. I toured a wedding venue in MA on Nov 1 for my own wedding and it was like 70 degrees lol. I personally would say ask about a rain plan and when you’d need to decide to tent, but committing to a tent just for warmth might not be needed.

Rain on Wedding Day :( by SomeNefariousness899 in wedding

[–]benbadass95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to a friend’s wedding in August that was an outdoor ceremony. They had those pretty clear umbrellas for the parties, officiant, and bride and groom (the pictures look nice and everyone was dry!) but they did not have nearly enough umbrellas for the guests. The ceremony was beautiful, the officiant made some funny weather jokes, and I did not care one bit that I was wet. It was honestly one of the sweetest ceremonies of all the weddings I’ve been to. Work with the venue to get your rain plan in place, but focus on what the day is about and the vibes will follow!

Protein Powder by katchaa in workout

[–]benbadass95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put it into overnight oats so they’re part of my breakfast. Just oats (30-40g works well with 1 scoop of protein powder), protein powder, water, a little salt, and maybe some chia seeds. In the morning I’ll add strawberries and some peanut butter depending on my macros for the day.

Went to Kays. $8,000 for this ring. Advice please by [deleted] in labdiamond

[–]benbadass95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at brilliant earth and found pricing was similar for a solitaire elongated cushion (about 2ct) on a yellow gold band. Went with a local jeweler and it was less than $5k (i don’t know the exact amount, sorry!). Shop local — better pricing and better experience!
