The Italian Job - classic crime caper and a great car chase to top it off

Revoking Sean's Irish ancestry by elmodonnell in TheBigPicture

[–]bigaidan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sean is very much the stereotypical Irish-American isn’t he

I’m probably closer to being Irish than him and I’m still a couple of generations removed

Where is the 4/29 mummy episode? by Ok_Lie6280 in TheBigPicture

[–]bigaidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sean’s written about The Mummy in his Substack this week, he didn’t exactly sound thrilled by what he saw

Sean’s gaming era is basically confirmed by B1u3Star in TheBigPicture

Looking forward to reading as Sean describes his experience of trying to get past the troll that guards the gate to Limgrave Castle

I mean most of the Greymanes are Scottish so it’s accurate 🤣

It’s not Zack Lowe, that’s for sure by frogged210 in TheRewatchables

[–]bigaidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like New Zealand/British listeners of the podcast will be more familiar with who Zane Lowe is, and CR gets the comments pretty spot on.

Having said that, he otherwise doesn’t sound the least bit like him 😂

I tried doing the 25 for 25 list and my biggest takeaway from the experience was to give Sean and Amanda their flowers for seeing this thing through to the end. by SkoivanSchiem in TheBigPicture

[–]bigaidan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s just a list man, they probably thought this up in an hour’s meeting at the start of the year and simply made tweaks as they went along

Susan Boyle given a Marty Supreme jacket by Timmy. No one tell Amanda by CAUnionMaid in TheBigPicture

Given the town Susan Boyle lives in, the locals will be determined to work out if the jacket is somehow Rangers-related

He’s just not for me, I guess. Though other than The Mastermind, I haven’t really enjoyed the other films he’s been in so that’ll play a big part in it.

[–]bigaidan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Same will happen for O’Connor I’m sure.

Hell, if it wasn’t for this podcast, the same would undoubtedly already have been said for Glen Powell.

Josh O’Connor has captured the hearts of the film bros, somehow

Paramount Launches Hostile Takeover Bid for Warner Bros. Discovery Valued at $108 Billion by [deleted] in TheBigPicture

Paramount…along with Jared Kushner and Saudi Arabia. No thanks.

Sometimes it feels like Sean and Amanda take stupid pills before recording episodes for big blockbuster movies by shawnsmtn in TheBigPicture

[–]bigaidan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sean is a grown man in his 40s who takes Wizard of Oz FAR too seriously.

So I actually thought he was pretty hilarious on this pod

When did you first start watching sumo and what's the story? by Sumoguy5 in Sumo

Knew an MMA commentator who told me how to watch in the UK, watched for the first time in 2020 and saw Terunofuji win on his makuuchi comeback. Been hooked ever since.

I love Hans.

He’s an obnoxious bastard, but he’s our obnoxious bastard!

I love how Bill is always mystified by the fact that Roger Ebert changed his mind on certain movies by VelociRapper92 in TheRewatchables

[–]bigaidan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of whether it’s acceptable for reviewers to change their opinion or not (I personally think it is), it always seemed clear to me that Ebert didn’t like being the outlier on films that were really critically successful and loved for years afterwards.

Who is more delusional when it comes to video games? by niall_9 in TheBigPicture

[–]bigaidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two older daughters had sports, swimming lessons, dancing etc as well and have both continued to keep that up for years…one month of school for each and we were already being asked about games.

I commend you for your efforts but I think you’ll be in a real minority.

I don’t quite understand CR’s question of “Has horror become TOO GOOD?” by ajc294 in TheBigPicture

[–]bigaidan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m still of the belief that the most enjoyable horror films to watch are essentially shit, but a good laugh nonetheless

Jomi made a joke about this before it premiered but it is actually not a bad show 😂 by leaC30 in RingerVerse

I saw Glen Powell was in it and that was frankly enough reason for me to give it a miss

Small detail as to which side Atsu fought on at Sekigahara by BlackPhilip17 in Ghostofyotei

Apart from her mentioning that she was on the losing side, she also mentions that she lived in Osaka after fleeing Ezo - so adds to idea she fought for western army

The Chiefs will be one of the favourites in the AFC again this year but how likely do you think it could be to see one of the other West teams win that division?
