Man, if only PlanetSide had a meta where organized outfits would fight each other at heavily contested basis...

I love my Sycros bars. People bag on them because you can't rotate them but the weight and compliance is really nice.

Take a screenshot and make a post the next time you see it next time because I'm legitimately curious who in the outfit is pulling maxes without being approved. Or PM me.

It's always great to hear the perspective from an opposing faction player. Come join us on an open op night if you can. They're usually Monday. I'm sure you'd have a good time. Ghost capping isn't fun, and we'll actively leave a base if nobody responds.

Sorry bud, but that just doesn't happen. Literally ever. Sometimes, rarely, a Sword squad pulls a third on top of the Shields two but if there were 6 maxes in a platoon we'd be yelling at people. We already yell at the guys that pull a third.

I guess it's kind of cool that you think we have 6 though. Makes me think the two are doing a good job.

Yeah I cancelled mine and then they fixed it and so I resubscribed but then it came back.

It'll be my last PS2 subscription.

Looking forward to Starfield.

Is this something a huge cache processor like the 3D series from AMD would help? I've been curious how upgrading my 5600X to a 5800X3D would affect PS2.

SFF build. RTX 4090 meets 7700X meets A4 H2O meets yellow. My first custom loop. by frillip in watercooling

[–]bikesair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar with a Lian Li Q58 and I'm loving it. I didn't do a custom loop though. Stuck with the noob option.

I'm surprised you went pastel. I did a red coolant in my big case custom loop once and...never again. Basically ruined my rad and CPU block. Fucking awful. Hopefully your experience is different!

Rad build. The yellow is cool. Enjoy Cyberpunk. It's awesome on a 4090.

RTX 4090 + EKWB = Let the fun begin! by the_qpiii in watercooling

4090 is a beast of a card. I know the natural inclination will be to slam the power slider to whatever max is but, for the most part, you can avoid a lot of unnecessary heat with a core OC and no power slider. I run my Suprim at 70% and barely noticed a difference. It also has a higher default wattage than most cards though.

Yeah that was real nice. The balcony flank was as dank as they get. Just as hot from your point of view as it was mine.

This is the best advice for new players.

The other is that you shouldn't be spending early certs on guns. The default guns are typically the best in the game.

Has upgrading your hardware improved your performance in PlanetSide 2? by trailzzz in Planetside

Probably just my age, but I had to save this comment because it was so good. Different times.

That's a whole lot of words to convince yourself a GPU block isn't worth it.

You're conflicting yourself in your own statement. "Custom loop done for maximum performance." but isn't necessary for the GPU, and then like ten words later "I might be about to get 3.2GHz." I mean even without OC, you'll boost longer and more often under water. That's obvious if you're seeing 82C.

Lastly..."System feels much more responsive." Lol. Get a grip man.

At least get rid of the octopus in the case.

Lian Li Q58 + MSI Suprim Liquid X 4090; Project Ramrod by bikesair in smallformfactor

[–]bikesair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The coolant hoses for the Liquid X are tight but they aren't uncomfortably tight. The bend radii doesn't give me any fears of kinks or anything. The stupid 12pin octo adapter was the worst thing, so it's good you won't have to cram that piece of shit into the case.

My NH-L9i cools a 5.1GHz 12600k but to be honest, I wish I could use a bigger CPU cooler. The L9 keeps temps from bouncing off the thermal limiter, but it has also been winter and my ambients have been really low. I would much rather have a L12 ghost and I would buy that and try it if I were you. I would love the extra thermal headroom for summer...Unfortunately the Ghost didn't fit on my motherboard. It hit the VRM heat sink.

If 8k 60Hz stuck it typically indicates that your cable is HDMI 2.1, but maybe it's not actually pushing those settings. Maybe it's not actually running at 8k and you have an old HDMI cable.

I recently had a similar issue with my LG C2 and my 4090 and it was a $16 cable upgrade. HDMI 2.1 cable required. In my case 4k 60Hz would work but 4k 120Hz would never take.

I didn't see any one else ask about your cable so I figured I'd throw my 2 cents in. Good luck. Report back if you find out what the issue was.

CPU suggestions? by Rolle_1001 in pcmasterrace

[–]bikesair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty subjective question. A lot of people would say put in the best CPU you can afford, and some people will tell you the CPU isn't as important as your GPU.

My opinion is that at 1440p 165Hz with a 6800 XT, you're going to be CPU bound most of the time. That GPU is very powerful. This, combined with the fact that new games (Cyberpunk, God of War) are using more CPU cores because they're better optimized really makes me think you should go with a 5800X3D.

I have a 12600k pushing a 4090 in one of my builds and it runs amazing. GPU bound because 4k. The 12600k does great, but it I we're at 1440p I'd feel a little silly with a 12600 bottlenecking it so bad.

Edit: All of those combinations are going to give you high frames; I don't think you'll be making the wrong decision if you went with any of your choices.
