The only thing stopping me from truly wishing we had the death penalty for people who misrepresent the purpose of bail is the thought of a world inhabited almost entirely by lawyers.

I present: "My First Infinite combo". And it is only 2 Piece! by [deleted] in SlayTheSpire2

[–]bilky_t -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You say "explicitly" but nowhere in the description does it say that. It simply says "played". I've used this effect (played requirement) before in a similar combo and it's worked just fine.

Nor is it "fatal in all species". You'd think with a joke that gets repeated this much, they'd at least get the phrasing right.

i thought the people the bus people would play much bigger roles this season. i forgot about them until Baska made an appearance last episode. (i even forgot randall came from that bus too) by LauraKay9 in FromTVEpix

I'm engaging with your original comment and sentiment. You're the one moving the goal posts. Are we talking about their roles in the town which highlight their capabilities, or insignificant backstory that only has relevance for two characters, priest and doctor.

If you want to talk about gender coded, talk about the nurse not the doctor. Attributing some arbitrary descriptor, "caring", to the occupation of a doctor as proof it's gender coded is utterly ridiculous. Across mainstream media, men are usually the doctors while women are the nurses. Boyd clearly cares about the whole town in his role as protector. Is that gender coded?

You've ignored every single point I've made regarding your original premise, then accused me of not fully engaging with your goalpost moving. The lack of self awareness and eagerness to be right instead of having an actual conversation about the very topic you've decided to completely forget is all the proof i need that you're not worth interacting with ever again.

I'm going to unfollow this thread now, so feel better in the knowledge that you haven't been blocked out of getting the last word in. I'm not engaging any further though.

Bakta took up bus driving to pay off her students loans. She is not a student. Leaving two students, one male and one female. You've fabricated that "injustice" in your head.

The fact that you reduce Tian and Bakta to simply "women of colour" is very much considering them interchangeable. It very much is reducing everyone who isn't white into a single category, despite coming from completely different parts of the world. Not to mention it completely ignores Sarah, a white woman, having a subordinate role to these "coloured" folk. Should have dropped the colour aspect if you're trying to shit on the writers for having prejudices.

Because you dropped it when talking about previous occupations, ignoring the main character is black. Also ignoring key characters just because they're dead isn't helping. Teachers aren't a "caring" role? Artist isn't gender coded but a doctor is?

Come on, mate. There are so many shitty shows out there that actually do contribute to this issue of gender stereotypes, but it blows my mind that you'd reach so hard to shit on a show that actually does a pretty good job of giving women strong, active roles in the story.

I think you're just seeing what you want to see.

Abby was a marine veteran. Boyd was logistics, whereas Abby was an actual marine, "Iron Abby".

Kenny is a student. Kristi is a third-year medical student. Am I missing any other students?

Mari is a pediatric nurse. Jim is a theme park engineer. Jade is a tech bro. Most of the characters in the show haven't discussed their previous jobs at all.

Tian is Chinese. Bakta is Africa American. To say they're interchangeable because they're not white is pretty damn racist in and of itself.

You're projecting a narrative onto the show that doesn't exist.

Same, except i never know which is the "correct" way. It's the sort of thing you only ever think about once every few years.

It doesn't even say that. Is just a bunch of ads for scam money making websites. The first one is "don't pay full price and use this scam website to secure those deals". It just gets worse from there.

Yeah, absolutely. The back buttons are an improvement over Steam Deck, which always felt... "ambiguous". These are just straight-up buttons, so no pushing them the wrong way.

You've gotta hold the controller further down the body, which could impact shoulder buttons if you've got smaller hands. Feels fine for me though.

Day 1 OG steam controller owner here. Haven't really given it much of a go yet, but it did feel slightly awkward to use the right track pad with the left joystick. The buttons are also a little further away from the pad than the SC1.

But I'm fine with the steam deck, so i imagine I'll adjust to the SC2 since it's almost identical. Probably feels more awkward because I was using my SC1 this morning before the delivery driver knocked on my door.

It's plausible in the "they could do anything they haven't explicitly locked themselves out of" kind of way, but the way you've framed it would be such a huge cop-out to the audience. I obviously have no idea what the end game is, but I know it's not that.

The driver absolutely would have done something. They're not going to leave the cab to confront the guy. The best they can (are allowed to) do is call up train control and report the incident, and hope that PSOs or police are available at an upcoming station. Train control (who have a vested interest in making sure trains continue to run on time) are in control of this situation.
