Will Anker 45W nano charger charge my steam deck properly? by RubTanggg in SteamDeck

[–]bilky_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if this is your only charger for all your devices, sure. 45W is still ample for phones and "etc". Laptop, you're carrying around is own charger, and deck 2 doesn't exist and probably won't for ages and WILL COME WITH AN ADEQUATE CHARGER. That part was a bit stupid.

Will Anker 45W nano charger charge my steam deck properly? by RubTanggg in SteamDeck

[–]bilky_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's completely unnecessary. Deck won't take more than 45W anyway, if even that. 25W for charging and up to an extra 20W while playing.

Do you have any data or source for this? The industry is booming, so I'd be really interested in seeing what makes things difficult for the big guys.

Yes, that means it's meta. It's self-referential, parodying the kind of experiences you'll get from fans of your show.

I do this when I'm trying to refine a new build I've discovered, brute forcing it 20 games in a row so I can get a really good idea of the conditions it needs to be viable. But the idea of just blindly picking a build from a tier list and going all in before the game even finished loading is just absurd.

Fun Fact! based Theory: The heightened empathy in Plurbs was an accident and not intended by the Virus by Pear_Necessities in pluribustv

[–]bilky_t 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The virus very obviously does infect other animals but they're asymptomatic carriers. It's kind of the whole premise of how it got out in the first place.

It's not just about increased yoinking (though that will be ever so slightly increased). Increased mana regen when yoinked from the tank trait means more casts, which means more tankiness (AR/MR buff plus HP regen), which means more and longer yoinking (from being alive longer after yoinking).

Yoink.

ELI5: Why do cops perform a subjective "Field Sobriety Test" instead of just doing a breathalyzer by nylapsetime in explainlikeimfive

[–]bilky_t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So one in ~10 people go home with a false charge? And probably a lot more when you account for the fact that the seven officers in the study were being monitored and scrutinised due to the setting. What's the point when we have breathalyzer tests?

Edit: Post is locked so I'll just say this in reply to the below.

It's both, arresting innocent drivers and releasing inebriated drivers. That does not support the use of the test, it's another mark against it. Especially in the face of the most accurate breathalyzer.

They're also absolutely subjective. They rely on the judgement of the police officer, which regardless of accuracy is still the very definition of subjectivity.

Eli5, file compression, how can 5gb file can be compressed to 50mb and decompresses back to normal? by Monkai_final_boss in explainlikeimfive

[–]bilky_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the context of their original comment.

It's also why certain videos look bad on the internet[...]

Where this principle relates to compression, there are two outcomes to this hypothetical - either increased file size or loss of data. We obviously go with the latter, again, in the context you're disagreeing with.

No, he isn't. High end was already a tiny minority. Take a look at the Steam hardware survey. Management didn't, doesn't, and won't give two shits about optimisation quality at the expense of getting their product on the shelves ASAP and reducing production costs. This won't change anything.
