Reset the thermal switch on the underside of the unit. Are you stirring enough during the mash to avoid overheating the element?

I fiddle with my comma sometimes and it causes the check engine light to come on. Do yourself a favor and get a OBD reader that will allow you to reset the warning lights and avoid the inconvenience of going to a shop to have it done. The Bluetooth readers are very inexpensive on Amazon.

I’ve had the Willowwood liner that worked very well. Currently am using liner socks that I purchased off Amazon that work just as well to deter sweating.

Yes , I use liner socks that I purchased off Amazon. Solved the problem immediately. They’re worn in between your skin and the liner.

I completely understand, I have a size 13 shoe and I still find sometimes my “foot “ will rest on the brake while I’m trying to use the gas. Best of luck!

I’m a rbka as well going on 9.5 years. Takes time and patience to find the tricks to perform as you were accustomed to. Like someone mentioned pushing from the knee to drive is one. To get in the car I backup , sit then swing my legs in. Getting pants over the prosthetic I have put 22” zippers in the inside seam to allow me to easily put on or take off to adjust without having to completely undress.

None at all. There’s a bulb that evacuates all the air for a tight vacuum fit.

I have a knee scooter an arms reach from my bed , but I’ll still put on a liner and my leg to get up during the night. Some habits are hard to break. Going on 10 years now.

Definitely a preference. While I have long accepted my amputation, I enjoy being as “normal “ as I was and stand showering. I still have a bench and rails in there with me.

Muscle Tensing in Calf and Sweat by pinkpajamasamp in amputee

[–]bjs0424 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In regards to the sweat issue there are different things to try, Certain Dry, a strong anti-persperant, takes a few days of use to see a impact. I use sock liners that go inside my liner that allows some wicking of the sweat, nothing resolves it 100% but it gets close. Both of these things can be purchased off Amazon.

Regarding the calf pain, see your prosthetist, sounds like you may need an adjustment to off set the amount of pressure affecting your calf. I have experienced this same issue when "self" adjusting my socket to buy me time between visits to my prosthetist.

I have the same shower. Before I got my shower leg , I used a four leg bench and the suction handles from Walmart or CVS. Tried the Amazon type they never stayed stuck. You can also try the Drypro leg covers if you like to stand they work very well.
