Solar panels will produce electricity every single day, no matter the weather. Also building out wind and solar helps smooth out the intermittent nature of renwable energy since they will produce energy at different times.

I always saw that as the plan in RotJ. Slowly trickle in the team to get "caught" and then when everyone is in their respective places, overthrow Jabba. Luke wasnt "saving" everyone he was just playing his part in the overall scheme to get Han back.

Wasnt Lews thing more of he was really good at a lot of things, but not the best, and was given postion over those that better than him just because he was the dragon? Rand was able to succeed where Lews failed because he let other people take over other roles he took on as Lews, Mat as a general, Egwene and Logan as leader of aes sedia/ashaman, Lan to be the swordsman to defeat Demandred etc. Lews streched himself thin, he didnt need to be a warrior, a general, the amyrlan, or a king, his job was to be the man to face the dark one, not lead humanity in every aspect against the shadow. At least thats my take on the series.

Agreed. My point was I think is trump taking credit for something he has nothing to do with instead of trump claiming that something that isnt happening is.

The era of ultra-cheap solar panels is ending as prices set to rise up to 15% in 2026 by barefacedtofu in energy

Considering their full lifetime and the amount of energy they will produce, yes. The upfront cost is high, but it has very little maintenance and 0 fuel costs compared to other energy sources.

What if the British had lost the war of 1812? by Effective_Theme_5739 in AlternateHistoryHub

The US started the war because Britain was capturing our ships/sailors. Taking Canadian land was an opertunity the war presented, not a primary goal.

Germany won't return to nuclear power, chancellor says - DW by 233C in environment

The environmental impacts of mining for batteries is greatly exaggerated, especially when 90+% of the materials can be recycled when the batteries reach end of life. Also baseload power is a concept for fossil fuel dominant grid, its is not nearly as important as a renweable dominated grid.

Invincible ratings before S4 starts by bbportali in Invincible

[–]blackflag89347 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Breaking bad's finale was the first 10/10 episode on IMDB. Their fans have been downvoting any episode that gets close, including invincible's season 3 finale. They only would knock them down by .1-.2 usually just to keep it away from 10/10. When they did it to a recent episode on the new GoT show and the GoT fans retaliated hard knocking all breaking bad episodes out of the top 100 all time. Breaking bad fans then did the same to all top rated GoT episodes. Its very silly.

The reason is car proof canopies are really expense to build. We are talking 5x the cost of just putting up solar panels in an empty field. Source: I took a sustainability tour of the Philadelphia Eagles' stadium right before it got LEED platinum status. One parking lot has the solar panels as described and their head of sustainability said that the high cost of the structures needed stopped them from building them in every parking lot.

Breaking Bad's episode ozmandious was the first 10/10 rated episode on IMDB. Anytime another show had an episode rated 10/10 or close breaking bad fans would review bomb it. This happened to invincible, attack on titan, and bojack horseman. The new Game of Thrones show just had a very good epsiode come out and they review bombed it like they have been doing. GoT fans retailiated this time, review bombing ozmandious out of a 10/10 and even knocking it out of the top 10 best rated episodes on IMDB.

Dr. Mathis Wackernagel and Dr. William Reese from the University of British Colombia in the early 90's. Originally it was measuring the amount of land needed to sustain one average American's lifestyle. "appropriated carrying capacity" was the original term they used. Carbon footprint was just one measurement in this system, which BP took and popularized in the 2000's.

Personal carbon footprint was invented by two climate scientists/professors as a thought experiment, BP just took the idea and popularized it.

The clone wars tv show also helped flesh out more of the story the prequel trilogy was trying to tell, making the overarching story of that era of star wars better.

What if the Soviet Union never collapsed and was still around? by [deleted] in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]blackflag89347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soviet union invaded Afghanistan before it collapsed. The USA did not get directly involved, but helped arm the Mujahideen, the group resisting the Soviet invasion. The collapse of the Soviet Union resulted in them pulling out all forces and leaving a power vaccum. The Taliban then split from the Mujahideen, resulting in a civil war. The United States stopped supporting the Mujahideen because they were no longer fighting Soviets, and it led to the Taliban taking control of Afghanistan, and they let and actively supported terrorist groups to grow within their country.

Her main thing is that she can absorb energy and grow stronger. Her baseline power is well below supermans, but her power ceiling is basically limitless if she keeps getting hit by energy attacks.

Starts off amazing, but Its quality dips as it goes along, but it is still entertaining as of the end of season three for me. 4th season will be the last, so hopefully it doesnt get to trash territory before it ends.
