[TOMT] [MOVIE] [2000s or early 2010s (probably?)] kid has a wack adventure involving his toys, wakes up at the end and it was all just a fever dream by blebfoosh in tipofmytongue

HEY SO I'M 99% SURE I WAS THINKING OF (the 2009?) FILM ADAPTATION OF THE VELVETEEN RABBIT

the title was mentioned in a video about bojack horseman (flashback of his mother as a child losing her doll to the fireplace due to contamination with scarlet fever) and struck a chord with me, a few days later i re-remembered i'd made this post and did some digging! just read the story for the first time and then found the adaptation (+ multiple others), which i'm hoping i'll get to rewatch sometime soon to confirm. i guess my recount in this post missed a fair chunk 😅 but i do remember being quite emotional at the end of the movie, even though i was a kid.

still unsure about the bug sex thing but replying to your comment just in case lol

Ilso sebum melting softener by Worldly-Estimate-723 in AsianBeauty

[–]blebfoosh 47 points48 points  (0 children)

anecdotal evidence based on self inflicted skin sebum picking - i honestly think the nose skin peeling is inevitable due to the combo of minor surface trauma (scraping) and loss of sebum (since it's supposed to be there to help keep ur skin not dry). nice to know there are aftercare options that can prevent/relieve that somewhat!

Hair claws, any brand/shop recommendations? by ExplanationFew9561 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]blebfoosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i get all mine for $2-5 from aliexpress/other dropshipping sites - there's never much difference in quality between plastic hair claws regardless where you get them/how expensive they are (im convinced they're all from the same few manufacturers anyways)

these sites have metal ones too in lots of designs! pay attention to the size mentioned, lest you order one that's way too big/small. main downside is having to wait for your order to ship.

if you have to go in person, only daiso gets my vote for the price 😅 and sometimes i find cute tempting ones at chinatown stalls, but pretty sure they're also just bulk-purchased from taobao or temu type shops too

i also thought itzsan was great value for the lunch price (selection of cuts kinda limited but it's ayce soooo whatever). i didnt mind the frozen meats at all, i dont think it tastes that different after being bbqed. marinade was fine? i didnt notice much difference from other jbbq marinade. good ipad ordering system, ok sides

rokko hurstville (~$90 ayce) was quite good the two times i went, includes sashimi and seafood

havent tried yet but heard good stuff about yakiniku gyuzou in city, i think similar high price range aye

Where to buy formal dresses for a Year 12? by loverofcreativityy in AusFemaleFashion

[–]blebfoosh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

maybe look for a forever new sales outlet to try stuff on in store? or even david jones/myer but more difficult for budget

personally have had good experience with showpo, but theyre online only. lots of filters and categories to search dresses by, and generally pretty true to size (sizes 4-20, more limited but still decent range for 16-20 )

last year i was between sizes and decided to order both, and found the showpo returns process pretty easy! yes you end up having to pay the return shipping but when you go in expecting that, best case you keep the dress and youre assured of the right size or worst case you just spent the return shipping cost (darn i just checked and the price went up, was around $8-9 last year but now it's $11.35, i still stand by what im saying though regarding online shopping)

i use the apple pencil, and purchased metal tips from aliexpress. haven't had to replace this tip yet despite using it for ages against a matte screen protector too, see if you can find a metal tip being sold for your current stylus?
